High quality, powerful, small, quiet AC
Great AC and fan for fresh air circulation. I would recommend making sure you put the window padding and foam between the AC-inside wall BEFORE putting the unit in. It may seem obvious, but it took us 2 tries to get the padding snug enough to ensure the AC was quiet and efficient. Overall, fairly easy to install but it is heavy so be intentional about how you move it around. Best with 2 people. We also set it up in an East-facing window to push in cooler air and give the AC shade from the hot afternoon sun. Lots of light still comes into my room and it takes up minimal space. So far, I really love this thing and it makes a huge difference in creating a comfortable cool space. I’ll most likely use the fan year-round to keep things fresh.

So far a great unit.
I read reviews before purchase of this complaining that it vibrates or runs too noisy. Neither is true if you install it like the instructions say. It’s super quiet. No vibration.Downfall I found is the advertised wi-fi that it has. I’m sure it works fine if you want to pay $50 subscription fees. I downloaded the app and found that out, so it’s not free and that’s as far as I went. Good looking unit. Suppose to self drain to the outside too. Not all units do.

Not worth the risk
I bought this item at the beginning of May 2025 in an attempt to get it before tariffs went into effect even though it wasn't hot and I didn't need it yet. It's also smarter to set an AC up when it's cooler so you're more comfortable. It took 45 mins or so to properly install. I let it sit over night and settle before letting it run for 30 mins the next day to ensure everything works properly. The unit wasn't ice cold for its size but seemed to be functional.Later that night when laying on the couch I could see a flashing light HIDDEN behind the front filter nowhere near the normal LED display. There was no mentioning of the light or it's purpose noted anywhere inside the manual even under the troubleshooting problems section. Ihad to Google it. Apparently the flashing light could mean low refrigerant, faulty inverter or power board or a bad compressor. It was suggested to unplug the unit for 30 mins and see if it resets any bugs. Waiting 30 mins did not reset any bugs. I also checked all filters and checked to see if there was any water to drain. Everything was perfect and brand new. I'm not taking a chance with 4 days left to return this that it's a hiccup and not something serious. GE should have all the warnings listed in the manual with easy to read explanations of what each specific light means. A warning light should not be used to indicate mutiple potential and serious errors. Warning lights should also be clearly visible on the MAIN DISPLAY. I'm returning it for my money back. This unit is too expensive to risk being a compressor or low refrigerant after 30 mins of use.As for how the unit worked for the 30 mins it was on. It was the most quiet AC I have ever had especially for this size. Cooling was not the best considering it didn't get really hot and I couldn't really test it on a hot day. Setup was a pain because I'm in an apartment unit and had to access the outside supports blindly since I couldn't access them from outside the building standing on solid ground. In terms of a clear view. Yes I could access the window, but the unit sticks out over a foot and still obstructs any view not looking straight out. I expected the U to be deeper and hand lower on each side of the window.

Good
Edit after a having it a long while:Got wifi working which made huge difference not having to push the invisible buttons all the time now since I was able to create a schedule in the app. Now I have to say i would in fact recommend it. Still cools well does it's job and looks good.Overall: I can't recommend it. In it's current version, too many flaws for the price-tag. There is *probably* a better view-preserving window-unit out there.Pros:1) The saddle style AC, clearly an obvious reason for anyone buying these in the first place, is pretty awesome. Looks good inside and outside of the house. I have a nice view from my bedside window that is nice to be able to still enjoy in summer.2) The general design, form, and weight of the unit is nice.3) Easy installation, quality installation materials. The first time I've ever had a window AC perfectly seal around the frame with easy.4) It works! Keeps my 400sqft~ish room nice and cool.Cons:1) The display and buttons are "touch" light-up buttons. They are not physical buttons (cannot feel them) and the lights go off when idle. Incredibly hard to see, be it day or night. At night the lights are off and in a dark room, you have no clue where any of the buttons are. During the day, the lights are drown out by daylight... so, so frustrating.2) This is minor since it still looks good and hasn't broken yet but some of the interior plastic and metal framing seems cheap/flimsy. The exterior framing on mine is slightly bent on the outside just from the very smooth install.3) Noise: it's not quiet. I'd expect more from a relatively expensive unit. When the compressor shuts off it sounds like a small bomb. Lol... it scares me every night right as I'm almost asleep.4) I can't figure out how to connect the WiFi instructions say there is supposed to be a sticker on the unit with WiFi information, but there is not... at least not anywhere easy to find. I'm living without it for now although I'd very much like it to work. Having to call to resolve this is highly inconvenient.5) The fan on the unit seems weak. Not a lot of pressure from the output, I have a tower fan next to the unit to help spread the cool air. Haven't tried without the tower fan so not sure how the room would fare without it.

SO QUIET
Un boxed A/C in the garage . The packaging was outstanding. Tested the unit using a watt meter and thermometer. In the eco mode the watts were 625 with a 45 degree discharge. The amount of sound was very low. We bought the 8300 size a/c with the regular compressor. You can hear when the compressor comes on but the fan is very quiet. The unit is about 75 pounds so you may need help installing.
