NordWolf 1/2" M35 Cobalt Stubby Drill Bit for Stainless Steel & Hard Metals, with 1/4" Hex Shank for Quick Chucks & Impact Drivers

Worked excellent, went right through the 1/8 stainless I was drilling multiple times without dulling.

Used the drill bit on the Hougen magnetic drill. Used 2 Hougen 2608 twist drill adapters. #1 Modified 2608 Twist Drill Adapter with Set Screw by broaching a 1/4” hex to accept the hex shank. It has the correct height to replace the annular drill bit used to position the magnetic drill onto the target center punch. #2 Modified the Hougen 02608 ADAPTER-ASSY 1/4" SHANK DRILL by installing a 1/4” OD brass tubing and boring the ID with a sliding slip fit for Pilot Pin, 3/16" Diameter for 1" Depth Cutter Hollow-Core Cutter (McMaster Carr #3124A81). The centering jig is placed on the hole center punch location then locating the pin on it. The magnet on the drill is powered up forcing the magnetic drill to align. The pin is forced down by an internal spring used to eject the slug. The setup demonstrates a practical and effective modification for accurate hole centering with a magnetic drill and annular cutter. Description and Function • The Hougen 02608 ADAPTER-ASSEMBLY has been modified by adding a 1/4” OD brass tube, then re-boring the inside diameter to provide a slip fit for a 3/16” diameter pilot pin.[amazonaws] • This allows for precise placement of the pilot pin inside the hollow core of a 1” depth annular cutter. • The centering jig is first placed on the target center punch mark, and you then use the pilot pin to locate dead center before powering the magnet. • Once the magnetic base is energized, the entire drill is drawn into alignment, ensuring perfect centering relative to the punch location. • The spring-loaded pin, originally meant for slug ejection, doubles here as a tactile alignment guide—automatically pushing the pin down to the workpiece for location confirmation. Great drill bit that fits into my impact driver chuck. The bit bits well into pvc and steel. It doesn’t walk when using on round steel vent piping. It produces clean accurate holes with out producing burrs. These were purchased to keep inside combustion analyzer case for the install of test ports on Furnace/Boiler vent piping (chimneys).

Worked Perfect, cut through the aluminum with no problem, made the job a lot easier

What a shame. Buy a “brand new” drill bit and it arrives dull. Couldn’t drill a single hole in 16ga mild steel table saw fence?. [ 1.61mm (.0650 in) ] WITH cutting oil. Not even a dimple? Wow.

Needed this for use in a right angle drill adapter as using a full size bit ended up bending. This worked like a charm and saved me about 8 hours worth of work.

Honda/Acura v6 bottom engine mount bolt threw water pump. It was stripped out from Timing job. Right angle air drill and this bit, made it right for a helicoil repair. Saved the day and the customer with it.

I love the fact that it is short and has a driver end so it will never slip out of the drill chuck. I had the difficult task of mounting my new box on my 41 Ford 2 ton. There was not a lot of space to drill in there. But with my angle drill and your excellent bit it was childs play. Not for children. Lol

This thing is great. Goes through metal studs like a dream.

Used putting my side steps on my truck worked great not room for full length drill bit.

This is definitely not cobalt, I drilled 3 holes through 1/4 inch aluminum and its dull af now

Excellent bit, no problem cutting though 1/2 inch cast iron
