Covered topics
Great reference for Java for all levels from novice to professional. Rather than going through multiple texts (this is how I attempted before), this single text covers it for all with all the latest features of the language!

Very detailed book. Excellent for beginners and those who need a refresher
Excellent book. It goes over Java concepts very in depth from the basics up to the popular java libraries like threads, networking, and GUI swing. I haven't used Java in years and this brought me back up to speed.

Excellent reference covering every aspect of JAVA.

Fairly comprehensive. Worth the price
Would like more code examples as snippets rather than complete programs. Some relatively useless features (such as Records) get too much attention while others (virtual threads) get too little. There are a few errors in the description of some code examples but they are rare. For a 1200+ page reference it is well worth the price.

More than a reference manual
This book is titled the Complete Reference. Actually it is not a reference manual like the online reference manual we may be imaging . As a matter of fact, this book is a great companion of the online reference manual. For people like me who do not follow each Java revision closely, we may be confused by the changes in each revision. This book explains clearly not just the what (a feature is), and how (to use a feature), but also the why. It discussed how the features evolved, and the rationale behind the evolution. When you read the discussion on a certain feature, you do not feel like reading a dry and boring topic, but inevitably intrigued by the vivid life of that feature. It is hard to believe, but this is a book that once you pick it up, you will not want to put it down.
