You might already have some of these -- Check Out This List Here --
101 Fabulous Small Quilts is a beautiful publication, as is every single one of these 101 small quilts. And they all require our comforting ¼ inch seam allowance. The largest three quilts in this mostly traditional assortment are just under 50 by 50 inches. The smallest is 15 ½ inches square. But there is no index, no list of contributors, and no formal source list. I've already got many of these patterns, although it is nice to have these great selections all in one place. So I've put together a list here of the 21 designers and their project names, all alphabetized. (You can see the Table of Contents online, but no designers are mentioned, and not every pattern name out there is unique. It is true the last few pages of this book show books by these designers, but I do not have all those books to say which book has which pattern. Plus, some quilters may have these patterns from sources other than those named books.) Please post me a comment if you would like additional information (sizes, techniques, etc). - 1) Alice Berg (of Little Quilts): Feedsack Flags - 2) Shelly Burge: Evening On The Farm, Follow The Red Brick Road - 3) Country Threads (Mary Etherington and Connie Tesene): Answer all Invitations That Ask You to RSVP, Better to be Overdressed Than Underdressed, Break Off One Bite-size Piece of Roll at a Time, Break Your Bread Don't Cut It, Do Not Put Your Elbows on the Table, Don't Break Bread Into Your Soup, Don't Interrupt!, Don't Play With Table Utensils, Don't Tilt Your Chair at the Table, Eat Slowly It Took a Long Time to Prepare, Flying Bats, Jacob's Ladder, Never Leave the Table Before the Other Guests, Never Wear Gloves at the Table, Order Coffee Every 60 Minutes in a Coffee Shop, People Will Find You Interesting if You're Interested in Them, Say Please, Stand Up Straight, Take Turns, Use a Napkin Only For Your Mouth, Walk Don't Run, Wipe Your Feet - 4) Kim Diehl: Five-cent Fairy Garden, Shoofly Potpie - 5) Sara Diepersloot: Be Mine, Harvest Star - 6) Mary Hickey: Christmas Weathervane, Little Forest, Midnight Star (with Pat Blodgett) - 7) Tammy Kelly: Sherbet Parfait - 8) Ann Kisro: Inspiration Point - 9) Nancy Mahoney: Pink Dogwood - 10) Loraine Manwaring: Going In Circles - 11) Terry Martin: --- Asian Influences - 12) Carrie Nelson: --- Decoy, Oso, Reveille, Roundabout - 13) Ellen Pahl: Diamond Maze, Four-patch Pinwheels, Pinwheel Charm, Three of Hearts, Twice as Nice, Whirlwind, Xs and Os - 14) Margaret Rolfe: Christmas Lanterns, Lava Flow - 15) Lori Smith (From My Heart To Your Hands): Batik Fan, Delectable Mountains, Friends Remembered, Garden Path, Nine Patch Nostalgia, Pinwheels In My Garden, Simply Charming, Tumbling Leaves, Vines and Flowers - 16) Karen Costello Soltys: Americana Nine Patch, Amish Inspired Shoofly, Antique Diamonds, Box of Chocolates, Japanese Circles, Maple Sugar Hearts, Plaid Coins, Sugarplum Stars, Sunny Lanes, Sweet Pea, Vintage Bow Ties - 17) Cheryl Almgren Taylor: Pretty Poinsettias - 18) Kathleen Tracy: Album, Bear's Paw, Broken Dishes, Civil War Baskets, Civil War Scraps, Crosses Mourning, Double Hourglass, Feedsack Flower Garden, Friendship Star, Indigo Blue and White, Lincoln's Platform, Little Red Schoolhouse, Log Cabin, Native American Quilt, One Patch, Orange Peel, Prairie Baskets, Prairie Points, Scrap Squares, Star Medallion, Strippy Triangles, T is for Temperence, Tumbling Blocks, Turkey Tracks, Underground Railroad, - 19) Judy Turner: Bento Box - 20) Cyndi Walker: Hopscotch - 21) Cathy Wierzbicki: Amish Sparklers, Blueberry Buckle, Leaf Chain

Lots of ideas for small quilts
This book has color photographs of all 101 quilts. The directions are clear and concise. There are quite a few that I am interested in making. Some of them would make nice baby quilts and all of the patterns will make beautiful wall hangings. I gave it 4 stars because most of the fabrics are reproductions of older fabrics that I think are civil war based colors and are darker tones. I would love to see this book reprinted with some modern fabrics and colorways.

Good Variety
A wonderful variety of mostly traditional quilt patterns all in one book. The majority are pieced, but a few combine applique and piecing. Although the patterns given are for small quilts that can be used on table tops, as wall hangings or doll quilts, many can be expanded to make bed-sized quilts by joining multiple small quilts of the same or different patterns. (Different small quilts joined would make a lovely sampler quilt.) Instructions given include modern, time-saving shortcuts for cutting and piecing. If you're an avid quilter and you've ever wondered how a certain quilt pattern, like Twisted Blocks, was assembled, this might be the book for you. This isn't a book for the novice beginner. Independent knowledge of how to finish a quilt is needed. But as a pattern book, this one's fabulous.

It's a very thick book, much thicker than I thought it would be.
The patterns are super cute and photo's are wonderful. Projects are written well and easy to follow. The book is over a half an inch thick with projects that are quick and easy to make and quilt without any fancy long arm machine. I am going to love having all these little quilt patterns and projects all in one great book!

101 Fabulous Small Quilts
I am so glad I added 101 Fabulous Small Quilts to my library. As many quilters do, I like to audition blocks, patterns and color combinations before committing to making an entire full-sized quilt. This book makes that part of the process fun. The plethora of patterns and techniques gives anyone something to try. Each pattern is done in an easy to follow manner. Since the quilts are miniatures of their larger counterparts, not much time and materials are involved when testing them out. As a bonus, when you've completed a project you've something special to use for yourself or unique to give as a gift.

Add this one to your library!
This one is now my favorite! Recommended by someone I met at a quilt store I purchased it on-line and am so glad. I'm hesitant to tackle a big project plus I work in a small office so these quilts are perfect additions to home or office spaces. Plus, I know I will complete them. Lots of styles and variety in the designs. Complete instructions. You'll be glad to have a copy!

There are so many beautiful quilts in this book it's hard to know which to start first. As it says, they are small quilts but can easily be made bigger by adding more blocks or sashings. The instructions are clear but may be a bit short for a beginner quilter. If you read them carefully before cutting your fabric it all makes sense. Lots of techniques are covered and the only problem will be deciding which one to make first. There seems to be a quilt for every occasion. This is a book I will refer to time and time again.

This colorful book has many different techniques and quilt blocks used in small projects in a variety of sizes, some up to 45 x 45 inches. Most of the blocks are public domain used in interesting settings or colors using modern fabrics. There is enough variety to suit most tastes. The project instructions are clear and well-illustrated. Patterns are included for appliqué projects.

Très beau livre indispensable aux amateurs de patchwork. Très bien détaillé, et très bien expliqué. Je recommande vraiment ce livre.

Just received this book and can't wait to get started on the quilts! Many can be made from scraps or pre-cuts and most are of useful size, as table runners, hangings or for doll quilts. Many a little girl would love to wrap up her doll in one of these. There are also some simple enough for teaching youngsters to sew and quilt. Lots of the quilts employ traditional blocks and designs which provide the means of learning the techniques involved in making them without too much financial outlay, thus avoiding costly mistakes. My advice? Buy this book!
