GREAT BROODER
I chose to use this setup for my baby chicks this year, for the last 6/7 weeks and it held up great! Here are my pros and cons with it! Pros: -Airflow on the sides and top helped cut out the smell tremendously -Heat plate worked as intended, and loved being able to raise and lower it based on chicks -The price of this setup really can't be beat -Fairly spacious until chicks reach that 5-6 week mark -Love that it packs away easily for next year! -Easy to clean, just use a small trash bag and scoop out all the bedding you can, then just use the mat when most of it is out and dump it in the bag. (Some bedding will go under the mat too) Cons: - After the first week or two, you will definitely need to buy a bigger feeder and waterer -When you use the side zipper for running the cord of the heat plate through, somehow every day there would be a small opening in the zipper. So you'd need to rezip it fully so bedding won't go out. -I had 8 chicks in here until fully grown and it started to get really tight at the end. I wouldn't put more then 10 in there. -The mat for the inside is definitely not the best as lots of bedding will find ways under it, but it's not too hard to clean Overall I would recommend this product to anyone whose planning on 10 or less chicks, especially for the price and functionality of it.

Perfect for backyard flock
This thing has made caring for chicks so much easier! The only bad part of getting adorable new chicks when you already have an adult flock is figuring out how to house them safely. In the past we have built brooder boxes, but they are hard to move, harder to clean, and seemingly are always in the way. Then what do you do with it once the chicks are big enough to join the flock?! This way so easy to move around, even bringing it indoors for a few days of the worst weather! It’s also easy to see and reach all of your chicks and their food, water, and heating. Kept our babies safe from curious cats, and not so parental hens. It was also simple to clean when the time came. Being able to wash and scrub the removable matt was great, but washing the whole thing, drying it in the sun and then being able to fold it up and easily store it in the garage when it wasn’t needed any more was just amazing.

Buy it
So helpful and easy to clean. It worked well for littles as well as separation area for sick girls. I like that I can easily take it outside to begin flock integration.

Nice setup for a quick fix
I would give it 4.5 stars if that was an option only because I don't fully like the warming plate and I was given two tops to feeding trays and no bottom lol. Other than that, the items are good, easy to setup and use. Pretty straight forward, pops right up and open to setup. Lots of different variations to have windows/screens open/closed. The mat is removable for easy cleanup. The size is okay for like 10 standard chicks for the beginning stages, I don't think any further than that as it's not THAT big. Definitely can't have any animal that can pounce on the top of it, as it will fold down and crush the chicks, as there's no hard shell skeleton at all, which is stated, just putting it out there for everyone looking at different reviews. As my cat jumped on top and luckily the warming plate stopped him from getting the chicks. As for the warming plate, it doesn't warm up to the degree as I feel it should. I feel like a lightbulb on for a few hours gets hotter than the plate. It does shut off and then back on which is obviously probably a safety feature but good to know as well. I don't regret purchasing this item, I just wanted everyone else to be aware of the few subtle things I didn't think of when purchasing.

Easy, Peasey
LOVE this pen. Right now I have 3 baby quail in it, but will use it for baby chicks, also. It can be folded and taken outside to clean. Dries quickly in the sun. The zipper top lets me take care of them without any escaping. The sides tie up for more light during the day and I have an electric heat plate that gives heat from the top when they're under it. It also is adjustable as they grow, which has been a safe alternative to the bright, hot heat lamp. The pen will hold quite a few chicks, although I never have more than 6, with alot of room to spare. Great value for a pen. There are stakes if you want to have it outside, but I normally keep my chicks in closed in shed or garage.

I’m just getting started with my first chickens and this brooder cut out a lot of the guess work. It was quick and convenient to set up. The manual ties were a smidge tedious, but it’s a cheap brooder. Extra convenience costs more money. My birds have acclimated well in there and it’s comfortably keeping 4 birds, but could easily handle more young birds. They adapted to the heating plate quickly and it seems to be about right because they don’t seem to be overheating from it. It’s not the Ritz, but it’s functional, effective, a good base package, and was worth every penny.

Good Pen that can Hold More than a Few Chicks
This is actually pretty roomy and can comfortably hold 10 chicks until they are old enough to be outside. We had a pretty large feeder, waterer, and brooding plate in it too. Took one start off because it expensive for what it is, kinda a pain to clean, and forget about ever getting it folded up correctly to go in the bag it comes in after you're done using it.

I purchased this for our classroom so we could hatch ducklings. This is the PERFECT thing to have if you wanted to start your own chicken or duck colony for your class! Lightweight, easy to clean, comes with EVERYTHING you need and the mesh tops and sides make it amazing for children to be able to see whats going on and keep the animals secure.

I love this thing. I love that it can be packed up and put away when not in use so that it doesn't take up space, unlike solid brooders. The heating plate has worked great for both baby chickens and quail. For the quail, I pile a little extra bedding up where I'm going to place it to give it some extra height because they're so much smaller than chickens when they first hatch. The brooder box itself is pretty spacious. We had 6 chickens in it and 13 quail. It was large enough that space wasn't an issue when we put both the chickens and quial outside at 4 weeks old during the summer. Any longer and space would've started becoming an issue.

Does the job. Raised 2 groups of chicks with this but found the heating plates not that warm

Works perfect. My baby chickens are growing so fast. The feeder and water container are incredibly small, need to get bigger ones, but everything else is perfect. Easy to clean.
