To be honest, I kind of regret buying this icemaker. I love the fact that people don’t have to put their grubby hands inside to get ice, but it doesn’t run constantly. It is on a timer, and you constantly have to change the timer so that it stays on. It also does not store very much ice. If more than two people want ice in their drink, they are sol. I do like the direct waterline, and the dispensing part of the icemaker. I just wish I had researched better and longer.

Product delivers as advertised. Nice sized ice cubes. Fan runs a bit more than expected but overall a good product.

It does exactly what it says it does. What I didn't anticipate is how bad the water would taste. Unfortunately, it recycles the frozen water and when you go to dispense water, it comes out of the bucket of water that's been siting around freezing and unfreezing. You can't get that fresh water taste. Now if you intend to plug this thing in and use throughout the day and drain it at night, this is a great machine. If you intend on continuously using this machine and want clean tasting water, you will be very disappointed. I am returning this product due to poor water quality. Hopefully this review helps someone on the fence about this ice maker/water dispenser.

I bought the plumbing kit for mine since I didn’t like having to refill it all the time. With that being said, I still clean the reservoir out every once in awhile. Mine’s next to the sink so I put the front portion of the maker over the sink and pull the drain plug. If you have the water line to it, just make sure the ice maker is off (better yet, unplug it) so it won’t fill when draining.It is a bit noisy when it’s making ice, but it’s fun to watch! Once it’s done making ice, the maker is virtually silent.The water that is dispensed is chilled, but not cold. But that’s the way I like it.We never turn ours off. If any ice melts, it drains into the reservoir and “recycles” the water.We even take some of the ice out and put it in the ice cube bin in the freezer.Aside from the noise, (it’s tolerable but does add noise to the kitchen) I really like this ice maker! I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

Unit works as described, but take note of several items.The Bad:1) The external casing is plastic, whereas the summary description might lead one to think it is metal.2) The unit is poorly insulated, if at all so ice melts rather quickly.3) The noise from the unit is rather disturbing; louder than a modern refrigerator.4) The ice is frozen within a water reservoir, which causes the ice to be somewhat soft and wet.5) The ice reservoir is not very large. It will fill about 2.5 glasses with ice. It would not work for a party.6) The instruction manual is written by someone who does not speak English, so it is a bit hard to decipher in places.7) As water is recycled indefinitely, fairly frequent cleaning would be recommended to prevent pathogen cultures from growing.The Good:1) It produces ice fairly quickly.2) It is very convenient.3) The controls are intuitive.4) One can feed an external water source to the unit.5) It works for those occasions where is no other convenient source of ice.

I liked the dispenser buttons for water and ice. The install w/water line went well. It makes ice quickly.I did not like the bullet ice - both sizes melt too quickly. The ice maker is louder than our dishwasher. The ice bin only holds one large glass worth, so people had to wait at times. Oh yeah, I was surprised during install that this unit doesn't refrigerate the ice! The instructions mention it melts back into the water reservoir...fast forward a few months and we found mold! lots of it right after the return window closed.If you care about your health, don't buy this. Very disappointed.

I’ve bought three of these. Don’t last and no one will work on them. This one has only worked one week and past date to return because I was waiting for someone to look at it only to be rejected for them to come and look n. I want to return this item as I’m a senior and can’t remove it by myself.

The media could not be loaded.  like it but wish the water was colder and the ice maker is small

I bought this 1 year and 8 days ago- technically it has been less than a year that it has been used since it took so long to get here. It hasn't been working correctly for about 3 months, so we had a appliance repair man come in to take it apart. They said all the gears are broken in the bottom. They said that it looks so bad, that there's no way that this was intact when it got here, it was just a waiting to break. For the price we paid- I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product.

TASTED AWFUL and there is no way to return this item.Called Whynter direct and they refused to help.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR ANY WHYNTER PRODUCT IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY AND TIME.
