This GBA sp shell replacement is ABSOLUTELY amazing for the price. It’s high quality, feels amazing. As well as has a nice matte finish and feel. It was easy to put together as it comes with everything you need, it even comes with a replacement sticker for the model number underneath. Really high quality shell, would definitely buy another for a second project!

This shell is awesome! Everything for great. The only thing you really have to reuse from the old shell are the hinge pins and their instructions suck for how to remove and install them. YouTube is your friend for that. Overall this feels really great and looks killer!

This might be a bit of a biased review, but I love all of eXtremeRate's products. They are high quality products that are made to fit. I love the material they are made out of as well. A real pleasure to hold. A couple of notes for this particular product. Yes, it comes with all the hardware needed to build the system with a couple of exceptions. 1st, it does not come with new hinge pins, only the covers. 2nd, it does not come with the circlip to retain the battery door screw. You will need to harvest these parts from the old system that you are reshelling. I actually harvested all the hardware from my old system because I wanted it to have a factory feel which means reusing the tri-wing screws. These screws, as far as I can tell, I never actually opened the bag of hardware so I am not sure, has been replaced with standard phillips head screws. It comes with a new SN label but not a battery door label, which can be ordered from etsy. For those of you who want the systems unique SN on your main label, you can also get one of those on etsy. As noted in the product description, the main board and screen do not come in the kit, it would be a lot more expensive if they did. It also does not come with a new glass for the screen. You can pick one of those up if needed on amazon. It also does not come with a battery. This is just a shell.

It doesn’t come with instructions. Take your time disassembling the old shell so you know how to put it back together. It took me a little while but now that it’s all done the Gameboy looks incredible. Better than new. It comes with a full set of black and red buttons, I couldn’t decide so I ended up doing black on left and red on right. It looks a lot cooler than going with just one color. I also did an LCD screen upgrade while I was in there so the before and after here is not just from the shell. I’ve used this company in the past for rebuilding Xbox One controllers. They make good stuff.

Very impressed with the GBA SP shell! I chose the NES style shell. It is a little darker than I expected, but I do like the color a lot. One of the best aftermarket shells available. Fits perfectly on the back of my GameBoy Slate mod by Makho. Love the soft touch material. I highly recommend this shell to anyone who is interested in modding or reshelling their old GBA SP. Awesome job, ExtremeRate! Update 2/27/2024: New Year, New GBA SP, New Mod! I did decide to purchase a new shell to mod another GBA SP. I decided to get the new Famicom-themed shell. I am very pleased with the end result. The shell has a nice soft-touch texture. The shell fits together well. Please note, that when using certain IPS kits, you do have to trim the top housing a little. This wasn’t difficult. Just make sure to follow the instructions with the LCD kit you purchase. This is still hands down, one of the best quality after-market GBA SP shells available.

Really nice! Material feels a little thinner than the standard shell but it seems like it will hold up. I wouldn't want to drop it from any height. Went together really easily, and they have a qr code to their instructional video right inside the box, instructions were easy to follow. Very beginner friendly. They included *almost* every single piece you would need, including springs for shoulder buttons and new silicone contact pads for A/B and D PAD. My kit also came with several color options for the buttons. The *only* pieces they didn't include was the neck rotation axle, which you have to cannibalize from your old shell. My Gameboy had a broken neck, so I was actually hoping they had the part in the box. I was able to Frankenstein my two existing neck rotation shafts and the rest went together smoothly. Everything fit nicely, including the old screen glass going into the body, and I can see where an upgraded screen would also fit in nicely. I can definitely see where including the neck rotation shafts would increase the price of the kit, so I can understand why they aren't included. I also appreciate having been given lots of options for the new colors for the buttons, but now I have four bags full of plastic button parts I'll probably never use. Would have happily swapped the button color options for the neck rotation shafts. This is a 5 star product I gave 4 stars just for that omission. If you have an old gameboy that needs a new shell, this is well worth the money, and easy enough to do yourself.

Beautiful shell! Installation is relatively simple, and takes roughly an hour or so depending on your skill. I really like that it comes with the screwdrivers and new buttons/d-pad as well.

Modèle Classic 1989 GB DMG-01 Points positifs: - Kit très complet - Plastique de bonne qualité - Peinture soignée - Pas de défauts de fabrication - 3 jeux de boutons de couleurs différentes au choix - Bien emballé - De la visserie en plus Points négatifs - La qualité des tournes vis laisse à désirer, il vaut mieux en acheter de meilleur facture pour éviter d’abîmer les vis - Il manque la bague de rétention pour la vis du cache de la batterie. Elle n’était pas sur les photos donc c’est normal, mais son inclusion aurait été apprécié. Il suffit de récupérer celle du modèle d’origine donc ce n’est pas trop grave. En conclusion je recommande ce kit, la conversion est très simple et le rendu est excellent! À noter: il faut récupérer les charnières du modèle original, en plus de l’écran et du circuit imprimé.

Coque de très bonne qualité. J’ai fais le changement et avec le guide j’ai réussi à changer la coque en 1h. Merci
