Excellent tool set with both inner and outer circlip pliers. I very much liked the ratchet feature which holds a set opening reducing the risk of flying circlips.This tool saved my bacon on a Saab oil pump cover held in place by a huge circling.

Did exactly what it's described to do

Removing the snap ring in a 6L80E transmission. These were slightly smaller than needed, but they worked to get it out and back together.

I work on Harley’s and this works great for the bigger snap rings on the transmission main shaft bearing. Love the ratchet lock so you don’t have to keep squeezing the pliers.

So far this has met all my expectations. Not the greatest quality tool but for the price has delivered in usefulness.

On large snap rings the tip's are a little small, so it takes some finesse to safely remove the rings. The pliers itself could be made a little beefier as they want to twist when removing like in my case a 14" internal snap ring

I like taking on a variety challenges...and latest one was getting into a large hydraulic cylinder (interior snap ring) to replace the seals and gaskets. I don't do it very often so I needed/wanted a tool that would do the job without cost of buying a new cylinder or a new home.. I have two smaller snap rings pliers but thought something beefier in case this project was going to be problem. My first frustration started with trying to align the pliers points to the snap ring and working with the "spring ratchet locking mechanism"....which is clunky at best. Sadly, I could never find the sweet spot on the tool for the needed opening. Squeezing the pliers meant constantly fiddling with the locking system. The toothed system kept getting hung up on itself...which made it almost impossible to adjust the opening. There has got to be a better way to control the squeezing/adjusting the opening and maybe a finer toothed locking system which doesn't constantly trip over itself. Second frustration....when I realized that the points were too large in diameter for the snap ring holes. In that frustration, I filed them down to fit. Third frustration...after hitting the lottery with finding the one sweet spot and the points were in the holes...and the pliers were closed all the way...they still did not compress the snap ring enough...even though I swapped the tips around. I never used the this tool to finish the job...I just found another way to remove the snap ring using other smaller pliers. I still own these...and perhaps some day they will become useful.
