well, they look great but he coating made it have ground issue and got a hum. to fix it, i just use a wireless system and dont use the actual cable. took care of the hum! (the bass string ones work though, no hum)

I love these Strings
They were heavier than what I thought they would be(12)not sure if they just seem like it because they are coated. Next time I will go to a size lighter. Great tone and feel, sound very heavy and crunchy, perfect for the music I play. The coating will eventually wear off from picking... but still looks and sounds great. Just bought a replacement set after 4 months of hard playing (1 to 2 hours daily). They stay in tune. None of the strings have broken and the sound is still good, but preparing for the inevitable. This is a good 3 month string for a serious player, possibly a lifetime string for a novice.

DR Black Beauties
these will probably always be my favorite go-to guitar strings. the black coating does seem to wear off quickly where the strings are picked, but i feel like it’s worth it having black strings on a black guitar.

Slide well, sound good, black coating is garbage
sound good. look good; it looks like there is no strings when your strumming... its a trip to watch LOL, especially in low light. The black paint coating was coming off the high E just after stretching in the strings and setting the intonation on the guitar and already had a 2 inch area where you pick was silver as a regular string. So i don't expect the black coating to actually outlast the string tone itself as you see on a 100% recrowned and 2000 grit polished frets are wearing down the coating. VERY undurable paint coating. Just a gimmick but they also slide VERY well in a power chord fashion with ease. i installed these on a 98 bc rich warlock guitar. will never buy again because it'll make my guitar look like a beater after putting SEVERAL hours in to a new setup... bogus dude.

Coated - But still bright - not dull
First off let me start by saying I have a lot of guitars and of course strings go with the territory, I have tried many. Let's be fair, I play Metal and Hard Rock mostly, but I also play Classic Rock and some Blues. I have played a lot different strings, some I liked for different reasons, if I am playing a guitar with a 25.5 scale I like GHS LXL strings. I just recently started playing Les Paul guitars and needed a string that would accommodate the new 24.75 scale because the scale is shorter the strings need to be larger to help with tension and tuning stability. I have tried Elixirs in the past they are ok, they sound a little dull and they do degrade or lose the coating fast at the picking area. I decided to try these as I had been told they hold up well. Man they were right! You do have to be careful when you string them up as you can wear off or peel off the coating anywhere there is friction at the metal, i.e. string trees, bridges and the ferrules where the string may come from the top on some guitars where the strings are loaded from the back. Once they are on, and tuned, they are incredible! I have been playing on this one set for about two weeks (about 2 hours a day) and the other set about a week ago at (about 2 hours a day) as well. They have help up well and they really sound great. I love to play heavy and use a lot of harmonics, these strings do not disappoint. All strings wear out, this is just a fact. These look great, sound great and last longer than most. Any way you look at it they are a fine investment. CJWII

Will not hold the coatings
When I heard about the strings that would look so cool on a new gray guitar I bought well I checked them out and came to find Black Beauties was the strings to have. So I put a set price isn't that bad. They arrived the next day I put them on wow they sounded great I like a skinner string than most ppl A .7 if I can get it but nothing over .9 and I do go through A lot of strings I have 15 guitars so I buy a lot of strings and they all get played. So 5 days they were put on time playing with them 6 hours of playing coating is coming off Low-e and B. Low-e is half dead and the B makes a strange sound that Like it just died in 6 hours of playtime. Really 6 hours I have bought 2.50 strings better than this true story no JB stuff here. I still have on at least 5 guitars with 2$ and fifty cents sets of strings that sound as good as when I put them on the guitars 3 or 4 months ago and have been played way more than these Black Beauties will ever see. But never again.

Quality product
These strings are killer . They sound good. It's funny they don't make your hands stink, like like a lot of strings. Do you know that Rusty nickel smell and they look cooler than the cold side of the pillow..

Broke 2 e strings in 2 weeks
First of all, let me assure you, I do not play rough and I do not play often. I have a guitar sitting behind me to noodle around on once in a while if I need a break from work. I purchased my first set of these strings because I thought the black coating would look cool. Yeah, they do but the high E broke the day after I put them on. Keep in mind I've been playing for over 20 years and I am confident I don't have any burrs or sharp edges on my nut or bridge. After the initial shock of having a string break so soon I figured it must have been a dud and I'll give them another chance. I bought installed the 2nd high E and within a week, BONG! That broke too. I am going back to GHS or D'Addario. Do not buy these strings if you intend on actually playing your instrument. Oh, the black is already coming off the other strings that didn't snap. Pure junk. Update: Installed a 3rd high e string since I originally bought 3 packs. This one lasted about an hour before breaking. Again, I've been playing for over 20 years and have never had issues with strings breaking like this. Pure garbage.

Will buy again!
Wow really surprised at how loud these coated strings are I usually have elixirs on everything but these are just as good on my electric guitar for sure if not better! I just put them on so I will see in a month if they stand up to my sweaty hands. So far the black coating stays on the strings and only the strings. Good price too.

Beautiful
Brought for a friend who was initially very pleased with them but he soon noticed the coating chipping and removing which was a bit of a disappointment. Maybe heavy handed I’m not sure but they looked great nonetheless.
