Very clean product. No dust. No weed seed. No chaff. Grinds to a whole wheat flower. Makes tasty bread.

FANTASTIC product (fresh, tastes wonderful, great value) and arrived faaaaast!-But-They have a known packaging problem, as seen in other reviews, that they really should address. Normally I wouldn't deduct a star for packaging and I feel bad about it, but its a known issue. I saw it on the reviews prior to purchase, but I also saw the quality of their product and where it comes from. I gambled that they had addressed the flimsy box = broken bag problem and I lost. I was fortunate that the split in the bag (from the flimsy box getting munched during transit) wasn't that big and I only lost about 1 cup of grain (which I swept it up and gave to the chickens, although I didn't purchase it for livestock).It was frustrating having to clean up the mess and tape that heavy bag after a long day already.Please fix the Flimsy Box = Broken Bag problem, you'd totally be 5 stars otherwise.

If nutrition is your aim in making bread, Montana Hard Red Winter Wheat is the premium choice. The grains are small, hard, and with a largish looking germ. In my wheat grinder, it produces a fine, although not cake flour fine, flour that in turn produces a somewhat fine grained loaf. I’m partial to the results, so I keep buying Montana Hard Red Winter Wheat to grind and bake up into bread.

On Dec 24 2023 I received a 50# bag of wheat Montana hard red winter wheat, I have used wheat Montana wheat to sprout for fodder for my rabbits in the winter in the past and was most satisfied as the wheat sprouted and grew to 8 or ten inches, which is nice green grass in the winter. This time I am only getting about 5% sprouting rate and the fodder trays are fermenting. There must've been something happen to this wheat, possibly it was allowed to get too hot! I cannot afford to give sprouting wheat to my chickens, who do not ask for it to be sprouted, but they will get this bag. I choose wheat Montana because they are organic farmers, and I do not want the chemicals that are used on other GMO wheat. At 80$ for 50#, what are my options, if you can assure me that this is only a freak happening the I would consider purchasing again, otherwise I will buy elsewhere. thank you. Lonny Ramsey
