There was once a bird in the forest that was completely black, except for his white eyes, who was laughed at by all the other animals because he did not have a name. So he goes to seek his fortune - and perhaps find a name! A modern fable that answers the question "How did the toucan get its name?" - and also incidentally his amazing colours! Review: Beautiful story with nostalgia - This is a book from my childhood which I read to my children and will now be reading to my grandchildren. Lovely edition. Review: Wonderful - It is a truly delightful story - just sorry that it had gone out of print and I had to buy a second hand copy for my new grandson who has got toucan's on his bedroom wall. We could do with more stories for children of this calibre.

A good story butโฆโฆโฆ
Usually I wait for the reaction of my second language primary school pupils before I write a review, so I cannot yet judge how it will be received. When I read them a story I usually use a large book so that I can show them the pictures of the characters and events to help them understand the story. For instance, the Elmer books, or most of the Eric Carle stories. I first bought the mini version, but the pages were far too small for a class of 12. But the pictures were really funny. So I bought the larger version, expecting it to be the same but larger - obviously. I was very disappointed that the pictures were not as good, as clear, or as funny. Neither of the books cost a lot because I always buy them โ used, very good โ, but the ideal book would be the size of the hardback version, with the illustrations of the mini version. The story itself is quirky, and I enjoyed it, so I hope my pupils will, too - when I sort out how to present it to my Austrian pupils.

Nice story, good moral and well presented book :)
Very nice little story and though it is a little flimsy for a very little one to be playing with (cardboard would be better!) it is never-the-less one that'll last a while we think :)

Love David McKee
This book reminds me of how books used to be when I was growing up. Great textured cover and classic story.

Had to get a reprint as a few pages were torn but it came quickly and was perfect.

Two Can Toucan revisited!
Nostalgic as I read this book to my children and I have now bought it for my Grandson. They loved it and sure he will too.

Two Can Toucan Can!
This edition is a delightful re-issue of Two Can Toucan, a story of adventure, hopes, trial and error and over confidence with a satisfactory (happy) ending.

Tolle Geschichte liebevoll illustriert
Sie funktioniert zwar eigentlich nur im Englischen richtig gut, aber auch meine Tochter, die Tukans liebt ist begeistert. Im Prinzip entscheiden doch die Kinder, ob ein Kinderbuch gut ist oder nicht :-)
