Great reel from Shimano, high quality.

very high quality precision reel
Shimano Ultegra is a top of the line fishing reel. It has a high speed retrieval ratio. Comes in handy when reeling Steelhead.My only complaint was the line capacity. I should have bought the deep spool. But I have never been spooled by the powerful fish I have fought with this reel.

2021 Ultegra review
Love the smoothness, light weight and the advanced features that were formerly only found in the Stradic and Vanford series spinning reels. I am a long-time Shimano user. I have one ultra light Daiwa spinning reel- every other spinning reel is a Shimano. And I have used Shimano spinning reels for 14 years of kayak inshore fishing. With three fishing trips of use, the Ultegra is more value and quality than I expected. I snagged a big cow nose ray on the flats and fought it to the boat to save as much of my 10# braid mainline as possible before deliberately breaking it off. The drag performed flawlessly. Casts like a dream with the long cast spool. Speckled trout, redfish and stripers have all been caught on the Ultegra...no issues whatsoever! Outstanding value and great performance- highly recommend this light tackle reel!

This product shipped from overseas the package it arrived in could have been something more sturdy the reel box was just in a bubble wrap envelope there was no sign of damage and the reel is very smooth it is spooled and waiting for warmer weather but looking forward to wearing the drag out.
