Awesome knife

This is a fantastic knife, very sharp out of the package. The sheath is similar to a mora companion, and retains the knife well. I have several CS scalper knives, and they are identical to the Tim Wells version apart from handle color. Specifications online suggest a difference in length and weight but that is false, and both knives have the specs that are listed under this knife. The Tim Wells Slock Master Scalper is an awesome knife, but… you can save $5-$10 by getting the regular Commercial Series Scalper with the black handle, it’s an awesome knife too. The scalper is definitely one of my favorite knives, inexpensive and useful.

Really nice knife. Full sized soft grip handle. Sharp angle bevel grind. This helps with keeping it sharp on your own. Expensive knives often have a hollow or obtuse grind. Great for a fine edge but difficult to sharpen properly for the every day user. I appreciate the simple design and large size of this knife. Might buy another one just for the boat.

I bought it thinking it would be a good bushcraft knife. You could use it for that, but it does not seem like that's what it was designed for. It looks and feels like a very burley (and VERY sharp) overbuild kitchen knife. In reality it is something between an outdoors knife and a kitchen knife. I have several really good outdoors knives, so this one will go into the camp kitchen as the main kitchen knife.This is a fantastic and almost purpose built meat knife for processing game or prepping steaks or roasts or brisquet or ribs. It will live with my camp kitchen and grill/smoking gear for those occasions.
