awesome helmet!
i’m not the one to write reviews lol but this helmet definitely deserves one. super comfortable off the bat the patting is great and fits amazingly. another thing the audio is pretty decent i can hear my music pretty clearly, not bass sounding haha if you want that get some ear buds, but i definitely would recommend buying this helmet.

Nice helmet, blue tooth is whack
Out of the box to a 3000 mile ride. Comfortable, like the function of the visor, sun visor and ability to open the front of the helmet. Drove for hours in wind, rain and even some snow, A+ on all of that. The non-functionality of the blue tooth and audio makes the audio unusable in my opinion. Volume - you can only cycle the volume by turning it up until it reaches max volume, next click goes to minimum volume - that is ridiculous. Yes you can control blue tooth volume on your phone, but then if you should switch over to radio, the volume is full blast. Using a single user interface press and turn for all things audio is also ridiculous, realize they are trying to keep things simple, but too much so. The helmet keeps wind noise down fairly well, but outside noise still to loud to hear audio at highway speeds. Great for going under 50. I was riding solo so have no input on the ability to talk to other riders.

3.75-stars: very comfortable, restrictive BT, fragile Chin Curtain - returned two helmets
**Rating: 3.75-stars required that I round-up to 4-stars** Background: I've had a motorcycle endorsement since 1982. I've owned a lot of helmets. I have FIVE other helmets in my current stable (2 BELL, BILT, HJC, Fulmer) & this purchase was for #6 (I have more than 1 motorcycle and I do Cruising, Grand Touring, Adventure Riding, I ride in hot & cold weather & I have a dedicated PAX helmet so 5-6 helmets isn't unreasonable). Important Sizing Note: by ILM's Size Chart, I should be an XL. However, I knew this (like most helmets) would run one size smaller so I ordered a XXL and it fits like a glove (for my head size & shape, I find that BELL is the only true-to-size helmet for me - use your experience to determine your correct fit). Pros: * One of the two most comfortable helmets that I've ever worn (see CON below). * I find the facial fit to be perfect on my cheeks & chin - it just feels 'secure' without being tight (it's hard to describe). * You get a lot of features for the price. * An included Chin Curtain (that can be removed - see CON below). The Chin Curtain significantly reduces wind noise (at the cost of less ventilation) & it makes the helmet warmer on cold days. * Manufacturer customer service was quick to respond & offered to help (see CON below re: the head liner). *Bluetooth Speakers: unbelievable, but the volume is loud enough that I can actually HEAR it without straining - maybe it's the Chin Curtain reducing wind noise(?). However, see CON below. I've always owned SENA BT systems (I have 4 other current helmets with SENA - SENA offers an APP to aid in connecting other & non-SENA BT systems). Neither Pro nor Con: * Ventilation: some will complain while others will laud ventilation. IMO, ventilation is as good as it gets in this type of helmet. It's a VERY personal opinion but I don't understand the expectations of some people (if you want maximum ventilation, wear a Half Helmet or an Open Face Helmet WHILE sacrificing SAFETY - that's a very personal decision). You can remove the Chin Curtain to increase ventilation on this helmet. Cons: * Bluetooth - read the product description - the Bluetooth is proprietary and will only connect to other, specific ILM helmets. * The Chin Curtain is secured in-place via two small 'nubs' on each side (4 total). One nub was broken when the helmet arrived and was in the bottom of the box - which BTW, I had no idea what it was until after my first ride (the helmet box looked like it was previously opened & I strongly suspect Amazon sent me a return). Regardless, these nubs are a weak point. A Chin Curtain is a nice feature, but it is designed very cheaply on this helmet. Because mine arrived broken, I exchanged my first helmet for a 2nd one. * I mentioned that I returned my first helmet for a second one ... well, I had an issue with the 2nd helmet that I received via exchange. The head liner had a flaw. The seam was not continuously sewn. This caused a piece of the leather-like seam to 'stick up' (it would not lay flat). Because I'm bald/shaven, this immediately caused irritation. There's no way I could keep & use this helmet without being miserable within 5-minutes of putting on the helmet. I had a choice: return it *again* or email the manufacturer and see if they'd send me a replacement liner. The manufacturer emailed me back in less than 24-hours stating they'd replace the liner. However, considering that I had problems with two helmets - and due to the Chin Curtain being cheaply designed & knowing it likely would not survive longterm - I returned my 2nd helmet and I bought another brand in-person at a brick & mortar store (Black Friday through Cyber Monday Sale so I got a great price). In summary, this helmet has some of the best aspects & value that I've ever encountered in a MC helmet. However, (1) having very restrictive Bluetooth connectivity, (2) the cheaply designed Chin Curtain, and (3) The QA issue with my head liner - I decided to buy another brand of helmet. My head liner QA issue was likely uncommon (the first helmet didn't have this issue) - and if you can live without the Chin Curtain (or it breaking), it is an extremely comfortable helmet. If you buy it on sale or via a Lightning Deal, it's worth having this in your stable of helmets but I recommend conducting your own Quality Control inspection before the return window closes. I'll attach a few photos of the head liner problem that I've detailed in this review.

FULL FEATURES! LOW PRICE!
I waited a few weeks before rating this thing. I gave it Five Stars, mainly because of what a killer value it is. It's got all the usable features, and a pleasing shape. The flip-down sunglasses are a nice touch in a pinch. They're easily deployable, but create too much turbulence to ride with the shield up. The liner is removable and quite plush for a lower range helmet. The quick-release ratcheting chinstrap works great. I have a Med. to Lrg. head, so I ordered the Lrg. and it fit perfectly. Snug, but not too. Venting is decent, as is the soundproofing. You can easily hear the sound system at Fwy speed. I won't bag on the sound quality at this price-point. It's plenty loud enough. If you want bass, then buy earbuds and be prepared to pay$$$ I could hear it fine at 80mph even with the visor up, having a stock pipe and no windscreen. The radio is great and remembers your last station. Phone calls must be answered, but they're easy to dismiss if you want. The mike is neatly tucked away. Nice feature! Another great feature is that the Bluetooth unit is removable and not hard-wired in for ease of maintenance. Apparently, the unit comes fully charged as I've been running it for hours the way it came. It has a low battery flashing indicator to let you know when to charge it. And you don't have to remove it for charging. The paint could be better, but at this price... Just keep a good coat of wax on it. The chin-guard latch can be sticky, so just keep a light coat of grease on the latches and strikers and it works perfect, with positive lock-up and release. I've owned a SHOE Neotech and I like this one better at almost a quarter of the price. A SHOE or Schuberth IS quieter and of better quality, but it'll cost you! This thing at $200 is a steal.
