Awesome Tool Little heavier than my black and decker but out performs 10 to 1

I live in CA. When we have wet winters, like the one we had this year, Spring will bring massive weeds to your lot. These weeds can be thick, almost like bushes. For example sage. I put a battery on this and attack the weeds, and grind them down to the ground. It really chops them up. The one drawback is that sometimes the weed will wrap around the rotating head and get caught, and then the head will freeze. Unwrap the weed, and good to go. I never had this happen with gas powered wackers, but the convenience of battery makes up for this little bit of hassle. When refilling, put in better line from one of the line manufacturers. The stuff that ships with it is not as good, and kind of expensive.

Had a gas trimmer and a corded trimmer-- and edging was always tough. Started using this, didn't pay close attention at first and realized that I had beat up the edge I was working with---because it is markedly more powerful than I was used to. People seem to like these, and I get why. Would definitely guy again. Loses a star as it is fairly heavy (with the 7ah battery)...maybe even a bit heavier than my gas one. Get the strap (doesn't come with it but easy to find)...makes it much easier to use and, more importantly, control since it is that powerful. Almost goes without saying-- but nice not to have the gas engine. I have had pretty much yearly surgeries on that carb and, even then, the tuning is suspect. Then you have the hold with one hand/pull cord with the other. Kind of a pain. Here, snap in the battery, put it on and squeeze the handle/trigger. Much less of a production.

I started with the EGO 21" Self Propelled battery mower and have been using it for 4 years with outstanding results. I broke down and bought the reconditioned Trimmer and Leaf Blower. I could not be more pleased. These units are all outstanding and, with the battery in place, are near perfectly balanced right at the trigger. You can't ask for anything more. Oh wait, did I tell you about the fully variable speed on each item? Simply amazing, seriously! Look and feel of a gas item offering the same result but the quiet and performance of a battery. No gas or oil to store and mix and starts every time. I wish the trimmer came with a guide for edging but it works and I am pleased with the outcome. The battery makes it so easy to use these items quickly without mixing gas or even getting out the long extension cord for my old plug in devices. Great job guys!

I originally gave this a good review but that was before i actually really used it much..At first it seemed great but shorty after using it the bump feature to feed the line didn't work..i already had a battery from a Leaf blower of the same brand and the leaf blower is great so i thought i would build on other tools that uses the same battery..What a waste of money this thing is..I even bought a new head thinking maybe it was just the defective head on this one that i got with the weeder..That new one didn't work either..Each time i have to take it apart and feed the line manually and it's just a big hassle..I would rather use my old gas trimmer than this one..The only good thing i can say is you can control the speed easier and it is quiet ..other than that..no thanks
