Great build and big size
I was put off by videos on YouTube saying the head falls off when you turn the handle. Long as you build it as instructed and check often that everything moves well as you build. There is no issues at all. Make sure you have room for it as it’s pretty tall once the wings are on and long when the tail is added. I’ve all the large Pokémon sets and I reckon this is one of the best ones. It’s often on sale so don’t pay full price

simply awesome, although wings could have been a little better
Charizard Pokemon Model====================An absolutely excellent lego type set. I was absolutely amazed by the level of detail. The instructions are a souped up ikea version - there were only a few places where the tiny shapes all looked the same where we partly winged certain sections. The pieces are separated into a large number of see through bags and instructions do one to three bags at a time, so it's easy to pace yourself or even stop to continue on another day. On the item I received I found each bag had a few pieces left over and in three bags, there was unfortunately three small parts missing - I was able to get around this by using leftover parts from other bags - pieces not quite the right shape but when adjusting other areas to reuse piece from another part of the model. There are contact addresses for missing parts, but having completed the model I don't want to take it apart now! It was part of the fun of getting it all together and overall I loved the whole process and a great time bonding with the kids as we worked out what each piece was for. It looks like this is a pre launch at the time of writing since the QR codes point to placeholders. The pieces themselves can sometimes be fiddly putting them together - their tool for pressing pieces was actually quite good - we initially ignored it until we found in some places it really helped. On a minor niggle the wings are a little bit of a let down - the main wing area is just cardboard/paper, and not great sandwiching it in between the lego pieces which form the edge of the wing. Otherwise it looks really good once it's finished. There’s not a lot of movement, turning the wheel - Charizard moves forward and back, there is slight flapping and a couple of the lava pieces move forward and back. It's not something that can really be played with - the first time I moved the finished piece I was a bit careless and part of it broke loose, so I had to work out how to put some of the pieces back together again. This is now proudly on display - and to give it credit has caused a lot of notice/admiration/conversation piece. Currently selling for 160.27

Impressive. A Must for avid Pokémon Collectors
This was my first time assembling blocks that weren't made by Lego. And I must, it was a delight to assemble this. It's an excellent choice for anyone who has a love of Pokémon.Pros:Size: The model, once put together, is quite sizable and visually appealing. It's a real eye-catcher on any shelf.Assembly: Comprised of 1663 pieces, the assembly was a challenging build - definitely not suitable for younger children. I think the suggested age range of 12+ is fair, but it does require some patience. The instructions provided were clear and easy to follow.Features: A standout feature is the movement of the Charizard's wings and head/neck when the crank handle on the neck is turned.Quality: The set is very high quality (as you would hope given the steep price tag) and the attention to detail is impressive.Playability: Given the size of this model and the fact that it's a collector's piece, it doesn't really have much playability (is that a word?) after it's been assembled, but it would look great on a collector's shelf.Cons:Very expensive. The RRP is £169.99, but it's currently on sale at £160.27. Honestly, I think this is expensive for what it is - but no doubt a good percentage of that cost is swallowed up in licensing fees. However, for the serious Pokemon collector, it's not such a bad investment.Reasonably tricky to assemble. As I've mentioned, it's designed for older children and adults, due to its complexity, and some of the parts are a little fiddly - I have big fingers and struggled with a few bits, but as long as you have some patience it's definitely doable. In summary, excellent quality, though expensive for the casual builder. Definitely aimed at the serious Pokémon collectors. Overall, 5/5 if you're a fan.

A nice sized model
This Mega Pokemon Charizard model is a decent size when assembled, and looks good too.We got this for our oldest grandson who has always liked the Pokemon series and has enjoyed the challenge of making this model up.The set is comprised of 1663 pieces, and comes with a good set of instructions to help in the construction of Charizard. When finished the dragons wings and neck/head move up and down, when the little crank handle is turned, this is sited on the back of the box the dragon sits on.It is definitely not a toy to be played with once assembled, so he keeps it up on a shelf away from his siblings, also with the small parts, the toy has been given a 12+ rating. At £169.99 at the time of writing this review, I think it is a lot of money for what it is, however as a collector thing it is worth getting if you are a huge Pokemon fan.
