A great small speaker to give you high-quality audio in a smaller room
If you're looking to add wireless speakers, etc. to your TV or other entertainment devices, Sonos is the way to go. Sonos is quite expensive, but you're buying not only high-quality audio devices but also the flexibility of being wireless for sound and the interconnectedness of all the Sonos devices. The Sonos app recognizes all of your various devices and makes it easy for them to work together. You can assign devices to specific rooms or, if you want, set up a home audio network where music is played everywhere. The Sonos app also integrates access to Apple Music, Amazon Music, or just the Sonos music that they offer. For a home theater, starting with a Sonos soundbar opens the door for adding other Sonos speakers and a Sonos subwoofer. The sound bar, while using the Sonos application on your smartphone, will recognize other speakers and a subwoofer in the room. You also can configure the speakers to work separately, or they can be part of a surround sound system tied to the Sonos sound bar. The nice thing about each of the system audio components is that individually, you can touch the component (a speaker or soundbar for example) and control the room sound level, so you don't always have to go to the Sonos app on your smartphone to do so. You can get great sound for your entertainment system without requiring a receiver and complicated wiring. Generally, you just need: • A power cable • An HDMI cable for connecting to a TV • Preferably an Ethernet cable so all the devices can work over your Wi-Fi network • The Sonos subwoofer can work wirelessly, without requiring an Ethernet cable connection which is optional

Excellent Sound, Thoughtful Design (with One Caveat)
The Sonos Era 100 delivers phenomenal sound quality—clear, rich, and powerful for its size. Whether you’re listening to music, podcasts, or streaming audio, the sound feels full and immersive. The Sonos app integration is seamless. It’s very easy to set up, pair with other Sonos speakers, and connect multiple streaming services all in one place. The app makes managing audio throughout the home simple and intuitive. The only downside is the size. While it looks sleek, it can be a bit difficult to conceal depending on where you plan to place it. If you’re looking for something more portable that can easily move from room to room, the Sonos Move may be a better option. Overall, if sound quality and a smooth user experience are your top priorities—and you have a good spot for it—the Era 100 is an excellent choice.

First Sonos Purchase
Received this speaker one day ago. Setup was easy. Integrated well with Spotify. Bought it to replace a 12 year old Bose portable speaker that finally failed. I opted to not get another portable unit because this speakers stays in the house all the time. I like the old Bose but wanted to try Sonos. Sound is good for a one speaker unit and better then the old Bose but I imagine the Bose have improved over time. Sonos speaker is small but sound is full and rich. Heavy bass users may want a larger speaker or a woofer, but for most using it for music will like it. Will update later if I have any problems.

Solid Upgrade From Old Sonos Speakers
Great sounding speaker. We upgraded from some original Sonos Play speakers. While they were still doing a great job we wanted the benefit of stereo sound since a number of our speakers are the only speaker in the room. There's a noticeably better sound to these speakers than the original Play speakers. I do wish they had traditional buttons instead of the touch buttons, so you don't accidentally keep changing sound levels, etc. when you're moving the speaker. One additional feature that I didn't realize they had is that you can cast to them from your iPhone which makes watching videos or listening to music from your phone a lot more fun and enjoyable. They are slightly larger than the original Play 1 speakers, but not noticeably so. I do think they look better given they're pure black or white as opposed to the two tone black/gray of the original speakers. The build quality in general is very solid. They're heavy and feel strong. The bass is solid and sound is great. You can read and watch ample reviews on their quality. The Sonos app is still frustratingly slow and confusing, but I'm hoping that will improve over time. They do get pretty loud in my opinion so you could have just one speaker playing the audio for an entire room; however, I think they work better in a dual speaker setup - i.e. both sides or two corners of a room - to get a more full, immersive experience. I have other Sonos speakers and they place nicely with all of them. All said and done, I'm glad made the jump to upgrade the speakers and plan to use my old Play 1 speakers as outdoor patio speakers.

Great Starter Speaker, But You’ll Eventually Want the Upgrade
The Sonos Era 100 is a solid entry point into the Sonos ecosystem. The sound is clear, balanced, and definitely a step up from your average smart speaker. For a small room, apartment, or desk setup, it does the job really well—easy to set up, easy to use, and it looks clean and modern. That said… once you start listening, you may find yourself thinking, “Hmm, I kind of want more.” More depth, more punch, more wow. If you’re comparing, I’d definitely recommend the Era 300s over these if your space (and budget) allows. The Era 100 is good, but it doesn’t quite deliver that room-filling, immersive sound that makes you stop what you’re doing and just listen. Overall, it’s a great beginner Sonos speaker and a nice option for smaller rooms. Just know this: it might be the gateway speaker that leads you straight to an upgrade later. Not bad at all—just not the final boss.

WORTH THE EXTRA YOU PAY FOR QUALITY! SONOS IS WORTH IT!
OH MY! The sound is incredible! Without a doubt Sonos is an excellent choice for quality sounds compared to other sound systems! It was easy to connect my cellphone via wifi to this unit. We could not be happier!!! You pay a little extra for quality... Sonos has others beat! We know others who have Sonos speakers. After many years, they're still enjoying their beautiful sounds!

Worth a bit of trouble
(4.5/5) I was apprehensive about purchasing a pair of these after reading so much online about the connectivity issues. We don’t have the strongest or most advanced WiFi network so I anticipated having issues—and I did. I hit my frustration threshold after trying for a couple hours to connect to my WiFi in the initial system setup. The simplest of things were just not working and troubleshooting tips online weren’t helping. Left them alone to tackle it again the next day. I had the same issues on the next attempt. So I gave in and called Sonos Support—they were wonderful. I had to download an app on my laptop and download a couple updates. The customer service rep guided me through the process and was just as excited as I was when we got everything working properly. I mention all this first because I know concerns about connectivity/issues with the app might stop a lot of people from buying these. While certainly not as easy as it should be, issues were fixed relatively easily through Sonos support. And my God—the sound quality of these speakers are amazing. You forget any troubles you had the moment you turn up the volume on your favorite music. I do consider myself an amateur audiophile and these speakers are worth the money. Hopefully Sonos is making progress with their system so that less people have to call support just for the initial setup. Removed half a star just for this. TLDR: Connectivity issues are real but fixable; sound quality is amazing.

Great sounding Audio, lacks on voice control with Alexa echo devices!
Ok, here i am to give my honest review of my Sonos Era 100. I have good and bad points to make with this, but i knew it was not perfect before i purchased it. I bought this anyway for the sound quality and not really the extra voice features since i already have the Alexa i use. Just do not expect this to operate like the Alexa because it does not. At least not for me. And what i do not like about the Sonos is that for the voice you have to say, "HEY SONOS." and you cannot just say Sonos, you have to use both words. Alexa i can use just one wake word to use it and even change it, with the Sonos you cannot. Even though i got the Alexa app to work with the Sonos which i wanted to try anyway, it was a major disappointment, you hear the Alexa voice, but it would not operate any of my lights with Sonos. Not a major issue anyway since i already have it working with 2 Alexa units already. But if you are buying this for the Alexa feature, its a disappointment. Now for the sound. I heard so many good reviews about the audio quality so i had to give this a shot. The speaker was actually smaller than expected, but do not let that fool you. The sound was excellent quality and the music sounds very separated with the vocal and music which sounds great, and much louder too. I am using the Sonos speaker for my computer and basically music. I am now going to give you another honest review when comparing this to the Newer Echo devices. Buy the echo devices if you are wanting it for the home lights and tv use, but do not expect the audio quality like the Sonos has. Both the Echo and Sonos have good points, this is why i have both. Alexa for my lights and news and weather, however, if its audio you are looking for, i would spend the extra money for the Sonos and skip the Echo devices. Plus i do like the small size that does make it easy for Sonos to be placed just about anywhere. The bottom line with my review, if you want audio quality, then Sonos is for you. If you want to voice activate lights then the Echo's are better. But i have no regrets at all about buying this Sonos speaker.
