We use this log to keep track of all maintenance, all repairs made on board and all upgrades. Years ago we had a catastrophic failure of our diesel engine on a sailboat. We had kept a detailed report of all repairs and all events leading up to the failure. Because we had this documentation it was clear we had done everything necessary to provide needed care but a latent failure beyond our control caused the failure. As a result we received full insurance coverage for the engine replacement.Therefore a great log like this one is invaluable not only for keeping track of needed maintenance on a good schedule but also providing evidence of maintenance and care in case of insurance claim. This log is nicely laid out and is easy to use. Highly recommended as I am on my 2nd copy on our trawler.

Must have log book! I cant thing of one reason not to own this log, if you have something to add regarding your boats history there is a page or several pages for it. You will find forms for everything and if you don't you will find plenty of note pages. The intro has a large section for your make and model of boat, there are so many fields to fill in it actually educates the average boater (Google searching boat terminology..) while they fill in all of the info. This is my first log book, there may be better logs out there but im looking no further!

I really struggled with purchasing this log book or a different brand that had detailed pictures of their content. Weems & Plath should really post a few samples. It would have been very helpful in my decision making and boy, am I relieved and happy that I chose the Weems & Plath Maintenance Log. It’s very detailed and includes organized pages most important to a boat owners record keeping.
