Works like a charm
It's perfect for the job of planting. Wish my husband knew about this auger before planting season.

Worked better than expected
Used this for drilling under a sidewalk to run wires to garage. Went through clay with no problems using a cordless drill. Bit must be kept super tight in the chuck because it may slip.

Awesome Back Saver!
Planting flowers was so easy! The drill made it so easy to dig the hole. Get the longest you can find because you will not regret it. One IMPORTANT PRECAUTION and that is be very careful around small roots that will not move. When you hit a root it will twist your wrist to uncomfortable! I also let my grandson dig up dandelions with this tool. After dandelions removal you will have a small hole left in the ground. Oh! One more thing, because I was drilling around tiny roots, sometimes you have to remove the roots from the bottom of the drill. Also, make sure your drill piece is tight and secure, you might want to check it once in awhile. And, just so you know my grandson had lots of fun drilling those dandelions. I would definitely recommend this long drill type tool that attaches to your drill.

Does the job and then some!
This is designed for use by a drill and does a great job. If you have rocks or clay though, you need to be careful as it can strip out the gripper legs of your drill. But it does the job! I've used it to dig 18 inch holes to put PVC pipes into the ground for easy cage assembly/disassembly. We've also used it for very quick hole digging for planting. Made putting the plants is ever so much faster!

Great useful tool
This is a nice simple tool for breaking up packed ground like we have in the southwest. I would caution anyone using it to make sure you pay attention to potential tree roots and well secured underground objects. Mine caught an old tree root that was still strong and whipped my drill around twisting my elbow. That's not the tool's fault but mine for not being aware of what may be lurking out of sight. Just be careful!

Good for the price
The solid shaft ends in a hex to prevent slipping in standard drill chucks. The hex is a little too big for standard sockets, the coating needs to be lightly sanded down/ground to fit. This allows for more attachment options. Might be able to use a drill with a slip clutch to prevent sudden stops from twisting the drill and your arms. I like the pointed tip. The auger blade is welded in spots (4 spots?) and I would prefer to see a continuous weld along the shaft to add strength...but what do you expect at this price point?

Worked as expected
I have used this primarily for planting/transplanting. Based on my experience, please exercise care in using it.Caution:1. Better have a good Drill, with a low speed gear.2. Make sure you have firm grip on your drill with both hands, if the drill is strong enough this will twist your wristsif it hits a rock or a root.

Broke on first use...
Item broke on first use and under normal operating conditions. The piece of shaft that inserts into the drill actually snapped off, leaving the bit in the hole. Load was not excessive or under lateral pressure at time of break. Would not recommend.

Not nearly strong enough.
Not nearly sturdy enough to drill holes in the garden/dirt. The hex end snapped off drilling the second hole I tried. I used a Milwaukee 18v drill and it didn’t even come close to stalling the drill before the end snapped off. The manufacturer recommends this size of drill or larger. I tried to contact the seller to possibly exchange the item for a new one. I had used it for my compost and it seemed like it would work good for that, the auger is good in theory but not nearly sturdy enough.

Sturdy but larger than I expected
This is a well made product but it was much larger than I expected. Since it came during the winter, I haven’t had the chance to try it yet, but I’m looking forward to it.
