You just plug it in to any computer or tablet or smart phone, and it is recognized as a microphone.You simply adjust the dials on the microphone to get the right settings, and your headphones connect directly to the microphone so there is no delay in hearing yourself as you speak.This is significantly better than many USB microphones that rely on software being installed in order to work correctly. Software is always buggy and unreliable. If you update the operating system on the computer or phone, you often lose functionality in this kind of third part audio software. Compact mic that's great for high quality sound. Used the mounting arm to mount mine upside down.Original arm had a piece break off but the seller was quick to send a replacement.

Beautiful matching boom arm. Only thing missing for this price point is the pop filter. So im discounting one star. That or could have made it less expensive.

This is great for the money. Very easy to use and solidly built. Sound quality is good for voice or recording live music.

The recording quality of this microphone is fantastic. The microphone boom is very solid and almost too hard to adjust: it's very firm but that also means it never moves from where you position it.Here's the killer feature that many will overlook: I considered the Rode Podcaster, the Shure MV7 and a few other mics in this price range. They all come with some obnoxious software you have to install to adjust the settings of the microphone. That SUCKS! This is especially true if you ever plug this microphone into something that isn't a PC. I plugged it directly into a usb-c jack on a synthesizer and the mic worked perfectly. The input volume, mix, headphone monitor volume, and mute are all right there on the microphone whether I'm plugging into my synth or a laptop. I don't have to use some crappy software that'll inevitably go out of date one day and ruin an otherwise working piece of hardware.Bottom line: this microphone JUST WORKS. You don't install anything, it shows up as an input AND output in macOS and Windows. I plug my headphone directly into the mic and I can monitor my own voice or just use it to listen to audio and clean up my cords. I would buy this for these features even if the recording quality wasn't very good but thankfully it is fantastic to boot.Good job Sennheiser!!

Great mic! Controls are solid and reliable, and I've ever had issues with connection. Included boom arm is a little restrictive, but it's a good tradeoff for how strong it is.

Microphone seems to work well enough as described. For the price I feel that it is reasonable. My pc recognized it without issue, only had to adjust settings to have it set only for input as it changes both input and output by default. While testing the sound quality i noticed it found it hard to pick up my voice but that could just be that I dont speak very loud, once i got closer the sound was clear with no extra noise. My only issue is the cable it comes with causes my pc to shut down due to usb errors. Tested with it be connected to the mic and twice with it not being connected, both times i get an error causing my pc to shut down to protect itself after giving me a warning. Afterwards i switched to a cable i use for charging devices, no issues at all, i bought another cable for an extended reach, no issues there either. I also made sure i had all my usb drivers up to date and used the same port during all tests, the only problem came with the original cable in box. If you. Have issues, i suggest you test with a different cable, of course check your ports and check update the drivers as well.
