After you finish the Whistler Red book of third and fifth positions the next useful book is the Whistler Green book of second, fourth and sixth positions. Each etude helps my students achieve goals and trains fingers well.

Really... Its a violin practice book... and although it is teaching me everything in a great way, and I know its exactly what I needed... It feels like I'm torturing myself. Seventh position on a violin E string? Especially when I have never tried it before? Sounds horrible. I really appreciate the instructions and the practice studies, they've helped me improve my playing immensely. I wish they were more "song-like" - its hard to hear if I am even close when even when its played right, it sounds obnoxious.

Exercises...exercises.....exercises..... One would think these are boring and dull because they are the dreaded assigned exercises. But they are NOT. They are really beautiful etudes that are a pleasure to play, and yet are valuable as a resource to drill positions. The first time our teacher played them, we were amazed at how beautiful they sounded. Excellent workbook. Highly recommended.

The material in this book is ideal for those studying violin above the beginner’s repertoire. Once first and third positions are mastered from the first volume…this second volume book continues up to the Sixth position.

ich finde diese Zusammenstellung von Übungen sehr gut: folgerichtig aufgebaut, kurze Einheiten, motivationserhaltend, sehr hilfreich im Ausbau der Fähigkeiten hinsichtlich Lagenspiel und Verständnis der Tonarten. Zuerst Heft 1 üben!

I like the Volume 1, I am not yet good enough to play this yet, but from what I read, it should be similar with different positions.

I bought the 3 Whistler books on the recommendation of my violin teacher. And they are all brilliant, and an enjoyable way of developing good technique! I'm already seeing the benefit of including these exercises as part of my daily practice.
