What a joy!
Having used Savarez Carte Rouge for many years and more recently d'Addario, I decided to give these strings a try as they were a gift - normally I avoid strings carrying a player's name like the plague, their quality tends to be more hype than fact. What a pleasant surprise though. They were bright and responsive on my guitar (an older Jose Ramirez Flamenco but my very devoted best friend) - they seem to suit it well. They are bright and responsive with lots of expression - a real thrill to play. They took a week or so to settle down to one tuning once per day or two but they are wearing well.I will carry on my comparisons every so often but I will definitely have another go at Savarez strings and these in particular.

Overpriced
Found these to be nothing special. The wound strings are OK but the plain strings sound dull to me. The g string, which is also plain-not wound- was also dull. All in all relatively expensive.

Not good value
The strings sound ok but, they started discolouring within a week.. I had a d string just snap the other day, near but not on the nut, I wasn’t even playing at the time and they’re just not good value for money.Bear in mind I play Elixir strings on my Electric and steel acoustic and they are also expensive however they last and are good value as they don’t need replacing as often. It’s a shame elixir don’t make nylon strings , at least not to my knowledge anyway.

Superb Strings
These strings bring out the best in your Flamenco guitar assuming you have a good guitar in the first place. That's the most important thing when trying to get an authentic sound.

don't last long
I have always valued Savarez strings, so was looking forward to trying these Tomatito branded strings. I was extremely disappointed with them, within a fortnight the bass strings were lacking any vibrance and have become dull. The trebles have held up, but I will never buy these again. I am not overly impressed at having to buy a new set after 5 weeks......... (La Bella this time!!)

Not entirely convinced
In my (and probably yours) quest for the perfect guitar strings, I decided to give this set a try. Of course everybody will have their preferences, no review of guitar strings can be entirely objective.I really loved the sound of the nylon strings - they are bright, colorful, very responsive. But that's where the compliments stop. The metal strings are more ordinary-sounding, though by no means bad. I have just replaced the Tomatitos with a set of Hannabach 827T and I much prefer the Hannabach metal strings sound. The Hanabach's nylon's strings, on the other hand, are not quite as bright and nuanced as the Tomatitos, but overall I much prefer the Hannabach as a set. For me it's a no-brainer.I should also mention that I had a really hard time tuning the E and B strings. Again, a glitch I did not experience with the Hannabachs. A problem of manufacturing tolerance?Anyway, I personally won't buy these again, but they are probably worth a try - as long as you don't get the same tuning problem as I did.
