Can you clean the soot off the eraser?

You can, although you should be careful doing so because soot contains bacteria. To do so the sponge can we washed in warm mild soapy water. Make sure to completely air dry the sponge after washing and don't dry in your dryer.

Can you use on Quartz?

These sponges remove smoke and soot beautifully. I painted on a clean surface.
