Piano like tone
I play mostly jazz / pizzicato. I put these on and immediately noticed a much brighter, piano like tone. I think I am really going to like them.

The #1 String for the price !!!
These are the best Pizzicato and bowing strings for the best price. The only strings that never leave your fingers blister and sound very good in every range. They sound consistent with a pickup and microphone. Great for Orchestra and Jazz !!!

quality, versatile strings
these are good synthetic strings. i play a mix of arco and pizz, and am a full time bassist and music teacher.bow responce is gennerally very good. i've read the E strings were weak, which i have not experienced. on my instrument, the zyex A string doesn't respond particularly well to bowing. the rest of the set bows very easily and has a nice warm, big sound.for pizz / jazz playing, these strings are my favorite i've used so far. excellent sound and feel. i'm playing on an 1880s tyrolean flat back bass.i've used them in jazz contexts, symphonic, and classical solo repertoire. my only complaint is that the A string doesn't seem to bow as well as the others. aside from that, sound and feel are both very nice. i've had them on my bass for about 3 months now. satisfied. not the last set i'll ever use, but i'm not in a hurry to try anything else.

Great Strings!
Missy Raines suggested I try these to replace my Ed Ferris set up since I finally ran out of my stash of Kaplan Golden Spirals. My old 47 M-2 Kay is sounding mighty fine with these great strings and less than half the price of the Thomastik Spirocore and Golden Spiral setup I have been using. Thanks Missy!

Best I've used yet!
After a great deal of experimenting with different brands/tensions over the years, I think I've finally found my strings; Zyex! They feel great under the hands and deliver a warm round sound from the lowest position all the way up the fingerboard. They bow well too. I would highly recommend these strings to anyone looking for a versatile and easy-to-play string.

nice tone and feel, but very short life
I have gone through several sets of these in the last couple of years. I like the feel and the sound overall (although last time I put on a new set they were uncomfortably bright before they got broken in). However, the last two sets of these I've used have died after about 4 months of use. At first I thought maybe I had a defective set but now that it has happened more than once, I know that that's what I can expect if I get these again. What has been happening is that the strings start to unravel at the bridge (the G especially) and the tone quickly suffers. I have also asked other bass players who have used these strings about their experience with them, and have been told the same basic story of them wearing out after a few months. I will not be buying these again.

Amazing!
Breathed new life into my 1939 Kay C1.Great for bluegrass & piz playing, a beautiful blend of precision, sweetness & growl across the instrument (but especially on the low strings).Very musical, great feel. I'll be sticking with these for a long time.

Surprisingly good strings
I usually use Spiro Weich but wanted to try a different G string mainly for lower tension in thumb position and also the spiro can sound a bit crunchy Arco in high positions on all strings. I was considering and olive but thought I’d try a cheaper low tension string and for the same (less) price as an olive G I bought a complete set of Zyex weich. I intended to just put the G on but put the whole set. To my surprise the set sound really good and even. On my bass the Arco is really nice particularly on the D and G. I found the E and A easy to start when playing Arco (I had read otherwise, this could be because I’m use to bowing spiros). Overall the strings have a nice character, not as bright as spiros and they feel like they will be a great hybrid string. The tension is easy on the left hand, which is what my objective was, and articulate in thumb position. Nothing has jumped out at me to say “get these strings off my bass” and I’m really enjoying playing them. I’d recommend these for someone who’s looking for a hybrid string. They work well on my bass that was already set up for low tension strings.

Nice Strings For Jazz
Love these strings, got them on 3 basses now. But watch out for the 3/4 E string, it can be too short with the silk over the nut. If that's the case you'll need a 4/4 E string
