KIT CAT Klock Classic Black

My husband gave me as a bday present and I couldn't be happier! Although it is plastic the quality is ok and keeps time accurately. It makes a bit of noise but nothing loud that you can't watch telly or talk to someone without being distracted. It is so so beautiful, I am very happy with it. Just make sure to follow the instructions and the clock will work perfectly.

Love this retro clock and is a talking point for all ages. Good time keeper too.

Very entertaining design, similar to original. Unfortunately the clock mechanism is faulty and it starts with getting late or ahead to ultimately stop working. We bought first one which worked for about 7 months and had to be replaced only for the replacement to fail again after 5 months. The main problem is with the pendulum which makes cats eye and it's tail swing left and right. When is fails the movement of it becomes weaker and weaker to full stop. Changing batteries doesn't help and it becomes useless. For the high price tag of this plastic toy this is very disappointing.

It took two goes, but on receipt of the second Kit-Cat Klock we ordered, the clock worked straight out the box filling a weirdly appropriate space that's always been there on our wall, we just never figured out what was supposed to be there until we bought this Klock. Long story short - the first Klock ordered had a faulty mechanism - pendulum (tail) worked fine and eyes moved and all that, but the hands absolutely didn't and it didn't matter which online "fix" we tried - the hands were loose and simply wouldn't engage with the mechanism whatsoever but - rather than just send back for a refund - we took a punt on trying a replacement and, as I say - worked straight out the box. You couldn't have a more chalk and cheese experience. Given the cost of one of these things, its a bit disheartening running into a duff one on your first go - and if the same happened with this second Klock, absolutely - that would have been it. But, if you actually buy one you can appreciate, its not just simply your regular solid state quarts mechanism inside. Its a really complex, fiddly internal mechanism much more like a really pendulum clock movement (albeit made entirely of plastic) which, if shaken up in transit too much, probably isn't going to survive. Kind of swings and roundabouts really what you get - they are notorious for being temperamental but Amazons returns policy worked seamlessly - once in the system the refund went straight onto credit so quickly I was able to order a replacement which arrived the very next day. I really can't say fairer than that for Amazon. The working Kit-Cat Klock is very lovey, makes a satisfying tick-tock sound as a real clock should and all in all, we're really pleased we bought it - more a treat than a necessity, but the working thing really is a piece of lovely and makes you smile just glancing at it contentedly ticking away, smiling right back at you. Possible nightmare fuel for really small children, fortunately neither me or my wife are either, except at heart. Very happy with our new house guest.

Its quite expensive for a novelty clock, which I purchased as a gift. It arrived the next day (good) but with new batteries only told the time without the eyes and tail movement (bad). So I purchased new new batteries. Still no joy. Rather than send the product back, I drilled down on the website, and found this to be a common problem. Fixes include new batteries (check) and then checking the linkages (check check). What I found was the electromagnet which is wired in to the battery holder was rattling around (still wired in) into the bottom of the clock. With a bit of contorting and care (remember its all a bit flimsy) I 'clipped' the electromagnet circle into its alloted place. When I say 'clipped', there are no clips (probably why it fell out in the first place) and so more 'balanced' would be better. If this doesn't hold, then I will return the clock, as it should be glued. So in summary, a classic piece of Americana, built like American products seem to be nowadays, and the shine of the gift was somewhat removed by having to fix a brand new item. Its now hanging on the wall by the stairs waiting for the kids to come home and see it working!

As others here have mentioned, it's quite expensive for what you get as it appears to be very cheaply made. But it's a classic design and it does (so far, at least) keep good time. But my main bug-bear with it is that it's SO NOISY. I have it in my home office and the cheap, plastic rattling sound it constantly made was actually quite distracting, so much so that I was about to remove it. But I decided to have a look at what the actual issue was, and it appears that it's where the pegs at the top and bottom of the eyeballs sit into the body. With the aid of a long toothpick I managed to get some very light grease (I used Molykote 55) into where the eyeball pivots sit, and that made an incredible difference. It's sooooo quiet now. I've given it an overall 5 stars because I'm so happy wit it now, but if the grease hadn't cured the noise problem I think I'd struggle to have given it 3 stars.

So happy with this product Have wanted one for years but couldn’t justify the price. Bit the bullet and ordered it. Was not disappointed. I absolutely love it. Works perfectly if give it a 10 ⭐️ if I could ❤️

The Kit Cat Clock has been an American classic for decades. It's funny, cute and maybe too tacky for some folks but a lot of people (like me) love it. I read a lot of other customers' reviews before buying this and I recommend that you read some of the high rated reviews if you are planning to buy it so you know the "tricks" to getting it to work. It is somewhat fragile and it takes care to open it without damaging it, removing the foam insert, installing the batteries and putting the back part on again. You need to get the top of the back (up by the ears) in first and gently snap the panel in. It is also a good idea to use a screw rather than a nail to mount it since the screw should be more stable and you can adjust the small distance between the clock back and the wall as necessary to keep the tail assembly moving. You will also need to adjust the vertical angle a bit to keep the tail motion going. But I was very pleasantly surprised to see that, with careful preparation and installation, the krazy thing really works. The wagging tail assembly isn't even powered by a motor but just uses magnetic repulsion to keep the tail pendulum moving but it has continued to work for months now without any adjustment. It also keeps good time - just remember to only move the minute hand to set the time or you will probably break it. It really looks like a smaller version of the old AC electric Kit Cat Clock that I remember my aunt and uncle had in their house decades ago and the box says it's made in the USA. Good stuff!

Sieht nicht hochwertig aus, aber erfüllt seinen Zweck des witzigen Gadgets. Ich hoffe, dass nicht beim zweiten oder dritten Batteriewechsel die ganze Katze auseinanderbricht, denn das Plastik wirkt wirklich sehr billig. Dennoch bin ich glücklich diese Uhr zu besitzen und kann nur das Beste und auf lange Haltbarkeit hoffen.
