A great product but extremely over priced
I have given this produce 5 starts as my 10 year old son loves it - he couldn't believe his luck when it turned up. I bought it for him to coax him away from the Xbox! However - He managed to make all of the models in two days, which has now left us with a Quixel 3D machine with nothing else to make. So I looked up refills - I cannot believe the cost of the refills, I am still in shock. I cannot believe that it is cheaper to buy the machine, templates and beads, than to just buy a pack of templates and beads. This unit cost me £19.99, but to refill it's priced at £40 approx.!!!!!!This will turn out to be a very expensive hobby and I now wish I hadn't bought it. Why is it so expensive? There's also no option to buy a pack of beads to make your own designs. Hama beads are much more value for money - ok so you have to iron them, but at least you can afford to top up. Even Lego isn't this expensive!!!!! So a great product but extremely over priced!!

Very average
Bought for my son as a Christmas present. No black beads supplied for some of the animals eyes. Expensive toy but he enjoyed it but very fiddly to assemble as the beads slip when layers are added. Once you have done all the refill packs then the 3D maker is redundant as bags of beads and other patterns do not exist. Hama beads are so much more versatile than Quixels and better value for money. It has been impossible to find some of refill packs advertised for the 3D maker as everywhere is out of stock so the manufacturer of this product has had a serious supply meeting demand issue. Not a great product, limited playlife and overpriced.

Works as described if you are careful
My 6 year old can just about do this properly but occasionally slips and misaligns the cubes. They don't fall off when you do each layer if pushed in properly and stick together ok.The models look OK but you don't get a lot of cubes so will soon need a refill.

badly designed toy
This it probably one of the most useless toys I have ever brought for my children. Every christmas I spend time and LOTS of money trying to buy the right toys - toys that will stimulate and engage my children who are growing fast, I am desperate to make sure they still play and use their imagination rather than resort to ipads and video games. However even I got fed up with this product - I doubt it has been ever tested by an adult OR a child for that matter. It just doesnt work.... the 2D quixels are fun and we enjoy playing with them but 3D is a waste of time and money - I woudl love to know how to get my money back as one of the sets I purchased has been opened.

Not good value!
Kept my 11 year-old son entertained for hours BUT the refills are ridiculously expensive and difficult to get hold of, even in the US. The toy itself is very robust, but with the refills being virtually unattainable the toy has a very short lifespan. I wouldn't waste your money!

Great gadget but no refills available
My son loves it , but the week after I bought it you couldn’t buy replacement beads for love nor money!!! Discontinued everywhere and extortionate price on the last few sets left (£100 for a £15 retail set!)
