CRAZY AWESOME
TLDR: best stain remover I have ever used & one of the best purchases I’ve made. I rinse, wash with this bar, rinse again, then throw in washer & do my usual laundry routine. For severe stains - rinse, wash, rinse, then cover stain (both sides) with ample soap from the bar, then throw in washer without rinsing & follow laundry routine. Hasn’t failed me yet!***TRIGGER WARNING*** —> women’s issues & bodily fluids discussedIt took me a while to really try this bar out— I didn’t have anything to dry it on & I can’t stand the goopy bottom when soap bars dry on something completely flat. (I still don’t have anything “proper” to dry it on, but it actually doesn’t get goopy anyway!!).I got this bar to deal with menstrual stains. I have an irregular cycle & extreme bleeding (the kind that severely impacts my life … like I can’t even exit the shower “normally” for at least 8 days every month). I tend to use “disposable period panties” (“adult underwear” for periods) most of the time, but I always get caught off guard with a huge gush from Niagara Falls when it starts. So I needed a GOOD stain remover for my underwear, pants/jeans, socks, pajamas, jackets, bedding, couch covers, etc. Basically for anything that could be near my crotch or under my crotch while standing up is fair game. And allll the stain removers in the laundry aisle don’t work for my problem (oxi clean works great for my kids clothes tho).Enter this laundry bar. I got the tiny one from The Laundress at the same time — it did nothing my laundry soap couldn’t do. I have 2 super special needs kids & 2 less special needs kids, so I don’t have a lot of spare time to do stuff just for me (like hand washing stains from my clothes when they happen, or even doing my laundry when it happens). Sometimes my stuff just has to wait until all the other laundry is done (clothes, towels, bedding for 6 people is a LOT).Even when my stains have sat for 5 days (waiting for Friday night “free time”) it STILL comes out!! I rinse as much out as I can, then wash the area with soap from the bar. Sometimes I wash more than once, depending on how bad the stain is & how much of it I can rinse out before washing. I’ll do a final rinse & then throw it in the washer doing my normal routine. If the stain is really bad, I don’t rinse the soap out. I’ll wash it as much as I can, rinse it out & wring excess water; then load both sides of the stain with ample soap & leave it on to throw it in the wash like that. It hasn’t discolored anything I’ve used it on (or washed it with), doesn’t change the texture & the scent washes out too. I can’t really remember what it smells like — but I’m super sensitive to smell (I still use my face mask in stores bc other people’s perfumes & cologne make me nauseous from feeling like there’s an ice pick in my head) & this doesn’t bother me at all. I know it smells like flowery soap or something but it isn’t overpowering & doesn’t give me a headache like most things. The Laundress bar smells weird, like men’s cologne (& not a good one either). This bar is absolutely amazing & has not failed me yet!!! While I’m hand washing, the stain doesn’t always fully come out. I’ll be bummed thinking I ruined my clothes, but then the remaining stains come out in the wash (I have an he top loader with no agitator). I don’t know if running it through a delicate cycle will be enough, but I always use cold water & low heat in the dryer to extend the life of my clothes.

BLOOD ORANGE, TEA TREE, OR EUCALYPTUS??
I'm unemployed due to the Corona Virus pandemic. Sitting at home with the family thinking of stuff to do. Ah, laundry soap. Ever hate the current selection of smells the large corporations make for their laundry detergents? We decided on making our own laundry soap with essential oils to give it our own smells. Blood orange, eucalyptus, tangerine, lemon, tea tree, or any any other smell of laundry soap is possible. Yes I know you can purchase some of the detergents like eucalyptus but have you seen the price? WOW!! Plus this is something the whole family can do. The bars went on sale for .88 and what a deal. I ordered 3 bars and thinking of ordering more for future use. This is what we used to make our concoction and by the way...... it makes 5 gallons of laundry soap...- 5 gallon bucket with Gamma Seal lid- one bar of Fels Naptha Laundry Bar and Stain Remover- 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax Natural Laundry Booster- 1/2 cup of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda- .5 FL OZ of Blood Orange essential oilI grabbed one of my numerous 5 gallon food safe buckets I keep in the basement. My son shredded one bar of Fels Naptha Laundry Bar using a food grader. My wife heated one gallon of water on the stove. We gently placed the shredded Fels Naptha Laundry Bar into the warm water. Just warm enough to dissolve the soap. My daughters mixed one cup of 20 Mule Team Borax Natural Laundry Booster and one cup of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda into the warm dissolved laundry bar/water mixture on stove. We poured that into the 5 gallon bucket. We added two more gallons of hot tap water into the bucket. I used a paint mixer on a drill to mix the water into the laundry mix. While mixing the water we blended in .5 FL OZ of Blood Orange essential oil. After mixing for a minute we added two more gallons to the mix which gave us 5 gallons of laundry detergent. 5 gallons should last us for some time and WOW the smell. We've already washed a couple of loads of laundry and you can smell the orange. We use a 1/2 cup per load and it does not give us the suds regular detergent does which I like since we have a front loader. Now we're trying to decide Tea Tree or Lavender for our next bucket of detergent.

Smells nice, not worth regular price though
I purchased this for $1, and assumed it was always this cheap because it didn't say it on sale or anything. Come to realize 1 bar costs like $5 or more. Sorry but grating this with a cheese grater isn't worth more than $2. I loved the smell, and it did clean well. I'd love to use Fels Naptha soap again, but only if it's on sale.
