This is a silicone sealant which dries like rubber for sealing two surfaces. Thread lock is for bolts , screws etc. similar to super glue. It’s usually Blue or red in colour.

Is this product suitable for use in a carburettor? I.e. Petrol resistant?

It shouldn’t be coming into contact with petrol.
