It's hard to admit, but I kinda like this... including some of the B-sides
Right, it's almost cliché to hate on The Gaga, and admitting to enjoying the album will do absolutely nothing for my street cred, but... I've bought this album twice, now. The second time because the discs for the first one went missing (but oddly, not the box), before I was even able to back it up. Thankfully the replacement was rather cheaper than the original, and I didn't even have to resort to downloading. Neither part of this double album is perfect, there's some definite filler that you'll skip almost every time, but you'll easily find yourself bopping (ahem) to more than just the biggest hits extracted from it - although heaven knows there's a lot of THOSE. Pretty much every single that LG is famous for, bar a couple of lucky escapees from Born This Way, can be found within this one box, almost like a Greatest Hits fait accompli, accompanied by some other surprises. The weirdest thing is her range. There's the mass market electro pop that she's best known for, some strange bubblegum J-pop esque stuff that probably worked a lot better in the far east, a couple ballads and even a brush with some Nashville-ish country numbers. Having only heard the radio hits before the drunken culprits who brainwashed me into buying the thing did an evil thing - shoving £5 into a jukebox and putting the whole thing (most especially the Ace Of Base inspired Alejandro) on constant repeat to the chagrin of the country pub we'd landed up in - it was quite the pleasant surprise. It's rather like Abba, in a way, or a twisted version of Queen. Maybe Madonna would be closest, not only because of the obvious visual similarities in her costumes and outre sexuality, but also the fairly large slice of knowing / self aware humour and sheer cheek of some of the censor-baiting lyrics. It's inescapable, regardless of where you may have originally come from, musically, appealing to some very base musical instincts. Throw your credibility to the wind, throw it in the deck of your car stereo, turn it up to a sensible degree, and frighten your fellow commuters by singing along with the windows down. Go on, you know you want to, really. It's too much fun to be spoiled by a little thing like "ending up in a tweeted Vine that goes viral, seen by twenty million people including everyone you work with". (Hasn't happened yet, but is probably inevitable)

Me ha llegado muy bien, amo este álbum, aunque sea un EP, para mí es el mejor álbum que tiene lady gaga, es la definición de la re invención del pop, lo cambio todo, icónica, diva era (me compré también el vinilo de born this way) jaja

A timeless masterpiece! Gaga's best work yet. Gives me so much nostalgia of the late 2000s! This is REAL MUSIC.
