I'm impressed !
I'm impressed ! This Bissell carpet shampooer works better than I'd have dared imagine. We have 8 cats, and let's just say a couple of them had messy accidents on my beige carpet. I won't go into detail, but suffice it to say that now you can not tell it happened.I found the shampooer very convenient to use. Light-weight as shampooers go. And I like the fact it's extremely easy to add water / cleaner to the top tank. You can even do it without removing the tank from the cleaner. The bottom (dirty) tank is also very easy to remove and empty. You do not need to collapse the handle to remove it, as I had to do on my 25-year-old Hoover. And I was absolutely amazed at the amount of pet fur I found in the dirty tank. This shampooer really pulls the fur out of the carpet. In 25 years with the Hoover, I never found any fur in the dirty water tank. Kudos to Bissell !Yes, this is a plastic machine. But it's light-weight and works well -- at least on my initial use. I especially like the fact that the accessory hose is removable from the main unit, so you are not forced to carry around the (usually unused) hose and attachment while shampooing a carper -- as I had to do with my old Hoover.I agree the placement of the power switch on the main unit rather than on the handle is strange. But as an engineer, I understand that such placement eliminates the need to run wiring up the handle, and to install a connector that would carry power to the base unit. So, for the sake of reliability, cost, and simplicity of assembly, I believe Bissell made a good choice. And in truth, it's not really an inconvenience to bend over to switch the shampooer on or off. However, Bissell DID put a spray trigger switch on the handle. I consider that a necessity, and it works exactly as expected. I mention this, because apparently the Shark shampooers do not have such a trigger, and the fluid simply runs all the time. I cannot imagine hou you'd use a carpet cleaner that constantly dispenses fluid.Anyway, this Bissell Carpet Shampooer worked for me right out of the box. So count me among the 86% who love it !

easy to maintain, good suction
After borrowing a similar model from a friend, I purchased this one. It is even better than her older model. Easier to disassemble and clean, better suction. I should have bought one years ago! In the past I've used a smaller bissell spot cleaner, but this does the work of that a spot cleaner, AND does the whole room when needed.

Does a great job!
I bought this carpet cleaner in May of this year, and I have to say it does a great job! I use it regularly to maintain and keep my carpet clean and fresh. It is so easy to use. Granted, you have to empty the water collection tank often, but this cleaner is well designed. It's very easy to remove the large cleaning attachment with the roller blades, removing both tanks is so easy, and it comes with a long cord. I am very pleased with this carpet cleaner. This carpet cleaner saves me money. I prefer to clean my own carpet rather than hiring someone to do it for me.

It's so efficient, I think it creates dirt
BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet carpet cleaner is great !After 30 years my Hoover SteamVac with rotating brushes died (a pretty good run), so a replacement was needed. The reviews on the Bissell ProHeat sounded good. Amazon got it here the next day.Set up was easy. Anyone who has ever operated a home appliance could set it up without reading the instructions, but they did keep me from making any mistakes. With the clean water tank filled HOT tap water and 2oz of rug cleaner soap it was time to head to the carpet.I swear this machine creates dirt! I mean, my carpet couldn't have been THAT dirty, could it? The mud colored mess that it sucked up made me question what the old Hoover had been doing all those years. The roller brush brought up so much dirt! The Bissell has 3 cleaning settings, mine was set at DEEP, not MAX or EXPRESS. The only difference I can see between the settings is the amount of cleaning solution that is dispensed. The motor or vacuum didn't seem to change. With about half of the cleaning solution reservoir empty the pitch of the motor changed and it was time to empty the dirty water container. The container slid out easily and after popping the rubber stopper, the mess was down the drain. I gave it a quick rinse, just because, and went to reinstall it. It took my a few tries to get it back in, it is a tight fit and goes in easily once you figure it out. Then back to the carpet cleaning.Clean up was not difficult. A quick rinse of the clean solution tank and that was done. The dirty return tank, rinsed out well, but some fibers were caught in the center tube and unscrewing the bottom of the tank and a toothpick were needed to remove the debris. The plastic Brush Roller Cover came off. At first I was too cautious before I realized it was secured well and needed a bit more effort than I was putting into removing it. More carpet fibers were in the vacuum and needed to be cleaned out using the included tool. Nothing difficult in that. I wish there was an easier way to access the roller brushes other than laying the unit over onto the floor, but the included tool again did a great job.All in all I have used this unit for about a month, gone through at least 2 quarts of rug shampoo and found it does a outstanding job at cleaning my carpet. My animal companions are birds and it does a wonderful job when they hit the carpet and not the cage.A few things I wish were different, but they are very minor and specific to me. I'm 5'9" and wish the handle was an inch or two longer. The lever to unlock the handle is activated with a foot press on the right side of the unit, great. The On/Off stitch is a button on the side of the handle that you need to press with your finger. Why the engineers decided to go with that and not a foot switch is beyond me. You need to do some cleaning of the machine after use and not just finish and put it away.I would certainly buy this unit again

Cleans well, easy to use and maneuver!
So pleased with this carpet cleaner! We have an older dog who has started making messes on the carpet. We had rented the Bissell big green machines from Lowe’s a few times with good results, but the hassle of taking most of the day to go rent the machine, clean the carpets and then make sure we got it back in 24 hours kept us from using it more frequently. This is maybe a slight step down from the rental machine, but the convenience makes it a great solution. It’s also much lighter and easier to maneuver. Very much worth the price…will pay for itself with 7 or 8 uses (compared to renting the machine at $40 each time). Our whole house already smells so much better.
