Silverstone SG05-LITE Cube Noir

I chose to purchase the white version of this PC case. It’s very conveniently sized for placing on my IKEA square shelves, out of the way from the desk. The value is very good for the build quality. The casing is metal along with the front mesh, but the front panel casing is plastic. Cable management was a little difficult in this case but due to the fact the case is small and I used a full ATX RMi650 smart Power supply unit [PSU]. The top part of the case slides off to allow easier cable management, but fitting in the single smart 140mm Corsair fan with temperature monitor and the full ATX PSU was a slight squeeze. My 67mm CPU cooler just about fits height wise and helps suspend the PSU without implementing the PSU bracket making more cable space. This means that the only two main fans in the case incorporates the front 140mm fan and the PSU Fan. Overall the case is a sleek design and was well thought through.

Awesome case which will fit in a top of the line system, just be careful with your choice of graphics card as it took some finagling to get in a 10.5" GTX 1070, it definitely wouldn't fit in anything longer. If you want to attach a handle you should be able to do it although it would only fit along the width rather than along the length due to the PSU vent. I'm running my system air cooled and the temps are perfectly fine, I'm using a SIlverstone AR06 with the fan reversed and have the PSU mounted so it exhausts air from the system and it runs 10-15C cooler than the fan and PSU in the normal directions although even in the hotter configuration the temps were manageable. I'd also recommend getting a fully modular PSU with shorter cables if you can afford the extra, and if you can get an SFX PSU instead of ATX that would also be slightly better but it's totally fine without.

I built a new system around this SG05 to replace an original SG01. The SG05 is very compact and lightweight in comparison, but is not flimsy. The front panel is plastic and is higher quality than I expected from the photos. Internal space is well used, and with a Silverstone Strider compact PSU and Intel i5 stock cooler, the system is almost silent. Air flow seems smooth from the front fan (set to auto in BIOS) and the PSU fan has not activated yet as far as I can tell! As I used a motherboard-mounted SSD for the primary disk I used the HDD tray for cable storage from the non modular PSU, but if you do need to use the HDD tray then spare cable storage may be difficult. My only gripe is that the front panel LEDs are the usual searingly bright blue, so I immediately replaced the HDD one with a low brightness orange one, and left the power one disconnected (it is within the power switch), although these days I find that front panel LEDs are hardly necessary. I haven't had a problem with the front air filter gathering too much dust yet, but as others have said it would be relatively easy to pop the top and front off. Overall I would recommend this case for a discreet and compact build.

I wanted this because right now I'm using a tower and it's too big, I like more compact. I haven't put it together yet as I'm getting a motherboard for this at Christmas but have installed a front fan which was easy. The only thing which is a little pain is getting the cover off and on it's not so easy, you have to lift up rather than pull I found. Compared to my tower this is small! and would fit on my desk easy and you could even call this portable.

Did some research on an ideal ITX case, which is not expensive, as some of the new crop of sandwich type cases seem to be. Components I installed are, Asrock Z390 gaming ac I7-8700K 16gb DDR 4000 steel viper Corsair 600 psu Corsair H80I cpu cooler GTX 1070 evga All the components fitted well, just had to re-orientate the cpu cooler twice to fit under the power supply ( make sure you use the silverstone psu bracket, its positioned higher than some others ) . I left the IO bracket out for better airflow. Really impressed with the thermals, was not expecting to overclock. The corsair ICue fan setting software has quiet, balanced and fast. Heres the results on a 5.0ghz overclock with LLC level2 and -90mmvolt offsett and using Aida64 extreme software for 30 minutes. Quiet setting on idle - cpu31 - vrms41 - fan930 revs - vcore0.64 Quiet setting on max - cpu78 - vrms49 - fan1280 revs - vcore1.248 Balanced setting on idle - cpu28 - vrms41 - fan1270 revs - vcore0.64 Balanced setting on max - cpu73 - vrms46 - fan1890 revs - vcore1.268 I have been using the quiet setting and for a few weeks for gaming and its brilliant, no thermal issues whatsoever. much quieter than expected. If you decide to use the balanced setting, might be better to use a notctua fan. Ps . the results are with the outside case lid fitted !. Hope this helps.

This is a really good choice for anyone who wants to build a small pc and not spend a fortune. The included 120mm chassis fan provides good ventilation so thermals are good enough. My biggest disappointment was that the item had several missing parts! No motherboard standoff screws, or rubber feet included.

Upgraded my ITX PC recently and went for the same case, albeit the updated version with USB3.0 at the front and no power supply included. Find this case excellent and even though its really small you can pack quite a lot inside it.

Overall a very compact ITX case that makes great use of space. I am also in possession of a SG08, and this case, despite losing out on the thick, hefty aluminum slab on the front of the SG08, is much more balanced. However, the clips on the front panel are still flimsy, and the 5.25" bay is way too cumbersome. The 2.5" bay should not be riveted to the 5.25" bay, as many people will forgo the optical drive for a single-SSD build. I simply velcro'd the SSD to the side of the PSU, but sandwiched between the ST45SF-G and the R7 265, its temperatures are rather high. Anyone thinking of using the ST45SF-G with the SG05: you either have the PSU or the 5.25" bay. You essentially cannot have both.

Che dire, case esteticamente bellissimo, costruito con materiali di qualità e anche molto solido. Il case non è piccolissimo come ci si aspetta per i classici itx, ma permette di installare componenti top di gamma, Aio da 120 e GPU di tutte le lunghezze! Avevo installato un Asus Rog Rx5600xt! Unica cosa, i vetri sono neri quindi se amate le lucine dovrete caricare bene con i led! Unica pecca, se poi proprio vogliamo trovarne una la gestione dei cavi non è il massimo, consiglio alimentatori Full Modulari e cavi sleevati.

Ich wollte ein kleines feines Mini ITX Gehäuse, das nicht so teuer ist. Erstmal für Gigabyte B450I Mainboard, Ryzen 3200G mit der Option auch die CPU irgendwann aufzurüsten und dann eine Mittelklasse Grafikkarte einzubauen. Kühler wäre der Black Ridge gewesen, der auch mit 120mm Lüfter auf der Oberseite hineinpasst. Leider ist das Gehäuse von der Qualität nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen. Die komplette Abdeckung aus dünnem Blech steht unter Spannung, d.h. drückt man dort ploppt es woanders wieder raus. Es passt einfach nicht sauber. Auch der Rahmen für das Slim Laufwerk und Festplatten ist nicht richtig passend, hier muss man mit mehr als sanftem Druck agieren damit man alle Schrauben in den dafür vorhergesehenen Löchern versenken kann. Die Befestigung des Staubfilters ist suboptimal, da man den Filter verbiegen muss. Wenn das Case im Winter ausgekühlt ankommt wird das Plastik wahrscheinlich schnell springen. Grafikkarten einzubauen wird etwas knifflig da man hier ziemlich schnell verkantet wenn man die maximale Länge ausnutzen möchte. Abgerundet wird alles noch durch ein paar scharfe Kanten, die sich im Bereich Netzteilaussparung verstecken. Gemein, denn ansonsten sind die Kanten nicht scharf. Ich habe dann davon abgesehen das Case in Betrieb zu nehmen. Belüftung ist sicher nicht so schlecht und optisch macht es sogar was her wobei man gerne auf die Aussparung für das CD Laufwerk verzichten hätte können. Ich habe schon Erfahrungen mit diversen Mini ITX Gehäuse, neben den größeren wie Fractal Design Define Nano S oder NZXT H200 auch mit einem Dan A4, Kolink und Node 202. Ich werde bei diesem System dann zum Node 202 greifen und etwas mehr investieren.

Ottimo case mini-ITX! Compatto ma spazioso al punto giusto, con un’ottima gestione dei cavi e una ventilazione sorprendentemente efficiente per le sue dimensioni. I materiali sono solidi e l’assemblaggio è semplice e intuitivo. Perfetto per build compatte e potenti. Assolutamente consigliato per chi cerca qualità e design in poco spazio! 👌

Ich habe in diesem Gehäuse einen Core I7 (3770) mit 16GB RAM und 2 2,5" Festplatten verbaut. Die Anordnung des 18cm Gehäuselüfter ermöglichte es mir auf einen extra CPU Lüfter zu verzichten, da der CPU Kühler genau im Luftstrom sitzt. Auch alle anderen thermisch empfindlichen Teile sitzen optimal im Luftstrom. Es werden keine weiteren Lüfter im Gehäuse benötigt. Der 18cm Lüfter hat einen Staubfilter und erzeugt im Gehäuse einen Überdruck dadurch bleibt es selbst nach nun fast 1 Jahr Betrieb staubfrei (nach Sicht) im Gehäuse. Unter Vollast dreht der 18cm Lüfter hörbar aber nicht aufdringlich (Stufe 1, langsam) Die Kühlung reicht bei normaler Raumtemperatur (unter 26 °C) mit viel Reserve aus um einen sicheren Betrieb zu gewährleisten. Stufe 2 habe ich 1 mal im Hochsommer gebraucht als die Raumtemperatur schon bei ca. 34°C lag. In Stufe 2 unter Last ist das System deutlich hörbar aber immer noch erträglich. Stufe 2 mit geringer Last ist gerade mal wahrnehmbar, In Stufe eins bei wenig Last ist das Gerät nicht warnehmbar. solche Werte habe ich bisher nur bei Geräten mit Highend Wasserkühlungen hin bekommen, wo allein die Wasserkühlungskomponenten schon deutlich mehr kosten als dieses sehr schicke und sehr leise Gehäuse. Ich muss sagen ich bin sehr begeisert! Wo Licht ist, ist aber auch immer zumindest ein kleiner Schatten. so auch hier. Das Problem liegt aber eher an den ITX Mainboards, denn am Gehäuse! Wer einen Gamer-PC bauen möchte sollte sich fragen, ob er nicht ein größeres Gehäuse wählt. Es ist zwar möglich etwas Bastelei und Trickserei noch eine Fullsize Dual HE Grafikkarte zu verbauen aber das ist dann wirklich sehr eng! Mit meinem Prozessorkühler wäre das nicht mehr möglich gewesen, da er den PCIx Slot schon minimal überdeckt hat. das 2. Problem ist wie die Grafikkarte den Luftstrom organisiert und wie groß der Kühler der Karte ist. Die Höhe der Karte ist wirklich beschränkt hier kommen eigentlich nur Karten mit Standardabmessungen in Frage ( in die breite bis 2 Slot breite ist kein Problem, darf nur nicht höher sein oder rückseitige Kühler aufweisen, womit passiv gekühlte Karten überwiegend nicht verbaubar sind! Das Gehäuse ist ein Überdruck-Kühlsystem! Es ist also Wichtig, das Karten die Luft am Slotende rausblasen müssen sonst arbeiten sie gegen den Überdruck des 18cm Lüfters, was sie nicht schaffen werden! Da der Kartenkühler nicht im direkten Luftstrom des 18cm Gehäuselüfters sitzt, sind passiv gekühlte Karten nicht sinnvoll. Ich betreibe meinen PC mit der Intel HD4000 Onboard-Grafik der CPU und für meine Anwendungen reicht das aus. Ich bin kein Gamer, sondern Entwickler virtualisierter Systeme, da ist schnelle 3DGrafik nicht primär wichtig ;) für die normalen Sachen langt es. Dieses Gehäuse ist aus meiner Sicht für eine flüsterleise Power-Workstation, Multimedia-Station oder gar einen kleinen Power-Server ein technisch perfekter Kandidat. Bei einem Server kann man auf die Windows wahrscheinlich verzichten. Ich genieße die Einblicke die die Side-Windows in dieses Edle Gehäuse ermöglichen. Silverstone hat mit dieser Serie von Gehäusen jedenfalls nicht zu viel versprochen. Man bekommt die Wärme wirklich sehr gut aus dem Kasten. Nachteile: Innere Bauhöhe recht knapp für Prozessorkühler und Grafikkarten, gute passende TopDown CPU Kühler sind kaum zu finden, Der Platz für Kabel ist wirklich knapp bemessen, erst Recht wenn man diese Auf Grund der Sichtfenster auch noch "schön" verlegen möchte! Der Einbau des voll bestückten Boards (anders geht es nicht) ist nur zu bewerkstelligen, wenn vorher alles andere was zu zerlegen geht auch zerlegt wird! Einfache Montage ist anders! Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist durchaus hochwertig, könnte bei dem Preis aber durchaus noch besser sein. Innen ist der Rahmen Pulverbeschichtet. Die Beschichtung ist recht kratzempfindlich. man muß also sehr sauber vorsichtig und vorbereitet arbeiten. Die Acryl-Windows also wirklich erst zum Schluss verbauen und von der Schutzfolie befreien um Kratzer zu vermeiden. Vorteile: hat man einen passenden TD-Cpu-Kühler gefunden, kann man sich dessen Lüfter sparen, da der 18cm Lüfter des Gehäuses direkt von Oben durch den CPU-Kühler auf das Mainboard bläst! somit reicht der eine langsam-drehende 18cm Kühler für den kompletten PC (ohne extra Grafikkarte) und man bekommt ein wirklich flüsterleises Kraftpaket. Die Optik des schicken Würfels (OK eher Quaders, das Ding ist wirklich tief!) ist besonders mit den Acryl-Windows ein echter Hingucker! Das Netzteil ist sehr leise und wirklich sehr effizient. 2 USB 3.0 Buchsen an der Gerätefront finde ich sehr praktisch. Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert, wenn man ohne Extra-Graka auskommt. ansonsten nur bedingt empfehlenswert! Ich ziehe einen Stern ab, da die Verarbeitungsqualität (Beschichtung, Lackierung, Frontblende, durchaus noch Spiel nach oben hat, gerade bei dieser Preisklasse! auch ist der Einbau eines voll bestückten Mainboards aufgrund des sehr begrenzten Platzes sehr frickelig. Eine Lösbare Bodengruppe auf der das Board montiert wird, hätte dieses Problem vielleicht eleganter lösen können. Der Einbau wird aber aufgrund der benötigten monströsen CPU-Kühler immer fummelig sein!
