Samsung N950F Galaxy Note8 (Midnight Black) unlocked – Germany

So, I'm gonna be honest here - when I saw the price of the Note 8 I thought it was completely overpriced and not worth the money for what I thought was essentially an S8 Plus with an S Pen, but that honestly isn't the case here. The Note 8 really isn't an S8 Plus with an S Pen, are they simular? Definitely - but the differences (no matter how small they are) make a world of difference between these phones. I'll go into detail with some of the differences: Dual Camera - This camera(s) is phenomenal - I'd go as far to say it's the best camera you can get on a smartphone right now - Samsung have done their magic once again to bring professional looking photos and videos to this device and they look incredible. The live photo feature (which uses the telephoto lens) is amazing, all the photos I've taken using the mode have turned out to look like a photo a professional photographer would take. The dual cameras also both have OIS and this seriously improves video recording (especially when zoomed in) compared to earlier models which often struggled due to Samsung using both EIS and OIS. And finally, the zoom - well, it does what it's meant to do. The 2x optical zoom works incredibly well and doesn't lose any detail at all compared to if this was digital zoom. So overall, if you love taking professional-looking photos and videos on your phone then you'd love what this phone has to offer. S Pen - As useful as it's ever been, especially if you're using it for work. The last Samsung Note I had was the Note 3, and at the time I was impressed with the S Pen. But now I'm even more impressed with what the S Pen is capable of, quickly writing notes when the screen is off, creating animation, translating text, making GIFS and of course converting hand writing to text. The S Pen certainly isn't needed for most, but when you have it then trust me - you won't go back. The display - Forget the iPhone X, THIS is the smartphone with the best display I've ever seen and used. The technology is super sharp and the colour vibrancy is incredible thanks to the AMOLED technology Samsung uses. And thanks to the near bezel-less design it's a joy to use a screen of this size because it's in such a trim body. These are only a few of the changes but trust me there are plenty more including the super bright display, all day battery life and so much more. Now I'm gonna answer a few questions you may be asking: Is the finger print sensor uncomfortable to use because of its location? No, surprisingly not. Now obviously this is debatable because everyone has different preferences but with my experience using the finger print sensor is very easy, in fact I've compared it to a friend's S8 Plus and the Note finger print sensor seems to be easier to reach for some reason. Could it be in a better place? Definitely, lower down on the back would be preferable or located within the display however Samsung probably can't do this due to size constrains with the internals of the device. So yes it is useable however it could be in a better place - but I'm just grateful Samsung didn't axe it like another premium smartphone did *cough cough*. The battery, how long does it last for? Ok so I've had it for 2 days now, and at the end of each of those days even after using the phone constantly (8 hours screen time) it still had battery left! The battery inside this is incredibly optimised and you should have nothing to worry about getting through a full working day - in fact depending on how you use it you might even get 2 days out of it. What's the speaker like? It's good, nothing too special but it is good. I would've preferred stereo speakers but again with everything crammed into this phone it may not be possible yet. The speaker does get quite loud and you'll have no problem using it for music while you're in the shower or just for music in the background. Is the size too big? Personally I think the size is just right, any bigger and it would be too big. But then again some people may find it a bit big - I think the nearest comparison I can think of for this phone is the iPhone 6/7/8 Plus, it is about the same size as that. So if those phones are too big for you then this won't be the phone for you. What's the call quality like? Fantastic, the phone speaker is crisp and can get very loud if you need it. What's the face recognition and Iris scanner like? Honestly I think they're just gimmicks - they do work however the process of using them to unlock your phone is painfully slow, takes at least 3x the amount of time it would take for you simply to put your finger on the fingerprint sensor. Hopefully Samsung improves on these because I can see them being used in the future, they're just not ready yet. Note 8 vs iPhone X? Note 8 definitely, it has a load more features than the X, costs significantly less than the X and comes with all the peripherals you need in the box (unlike the X where Apple are literally charging you for everything). Not only that but after seeing videos of people using the X it just looks complicated which is weird since Apple has always been about simplicity - everything you do now requires some sort of gesture that looks very time consuming, meanwhile Samsung keeps all the required buttons for you to get around the platform quickly and smoothly. Note 8 vs LG V30? Now this is the tricky one, the LG V30 launches next month and is rumoured to be cheaper than the Note 8 however this isn't confirmed yet. Judging from what I've seen they're both great phones and they're both superior to the iPhone X in my opinion. If I could only choose one it'll be the Note 8 because the phone simply has everything - from great post-launch support by Samsung to the incredible uses the S Pen has to offer. Don't get me wrong the LG V30 has some great stuff including the wide-angle dual camera and quad DAC headphone jack - it's just the 'spark' seems to be missing from the V30 in my opinion - however until the phone releases I can't say anything else on it. So overall the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 out-shines pretty much every other smartphone that's currently available, and with close competition such as the LG V30 and iPhone X incoming, I still can't seem taking away the Note's position. The Galaxy Note 8 may not feel like a generational leap from the S8 Plus, but it feels like it's in a different league compared to the competition. When I ordered this phone I was worried that I was getting ripped off as it cost so much, however I can safely say now that I certainly wasn't getting ripped off. This phone is the best phone you can buy right now, if you're on the fence like I was then just order it - trust me - after a few days you'll wonder why you were even doubting purchasing it in the first place. 5 stars.

The note 8 is an amazing phone! I got this phone from SmartTech Store and it came within 5 days, 1 day earlier than the date provided. The note 8 is a beautiful device with glossy glass on the front and back. The phone feels comfortable in the hand and if you're used to big phones such as the sd edge plus, the fingerprint scanner placement won't be a problem! The dual camera is amazing and that live focus is easy to use. Bixby vision is useful if you want to find something similar to what you're looking at but not so much for finding it to buy. The iris scanner is quick and accurate, the fingerprint scanner is very snappy and unlocks without having to press the power button first. Battery life is average but that is expected because of the massive screen! the s-pen is quite useful for translating things on web pages and is good for making off-screen notes such as shopping lists. The screen is amazing, it is so bright and big and the bezels are quite small. Software is easy to navigate and use, it has tutorials for features that you haven't used yet which is useful if you don't know about the new updated software features and gestures. Speaking of gestures, the fingerprint scanner can also be used to pull down and push up the notification bar so that's a nice little trick. The front camera is amazing and captures many details in pictures. Overall this phone is very great and if you want a seller that is trustworthy and sells the real deal, go for SmartTech Store, they have great reviews and the did deliver a genuine European galaxy note 8

Without a shadow of a doubt, THE best galaxy phone ever and most probably, THE best smartphone to date. Far faster than the recently released iPhone X in speed checks, loading of apps, multitasking etc. This phone really excels in the multitasking department. Load several apps in succession and use 2 at same time with multi window. The camera is just outstanding and with the 2x optical zoom, this makes such a difference. With the super amoled screen and 6.3" 18:5 layout, this really shows off photos and apps to their best. Super fast charging means less time plugged in too. Phone is a bit on the large size compared to the far more ergonomically designed Galaxy S8 but then you enjoy the screen size when watching movies and forget about it very quickly. S Pen is such a great attribute, allowing freelance cutting of items on screen. Screen off memo and a whole host of S Pen functions really make this phone truly superb and more than worth the hefty price tag. Definitely get a Samsung Dex Station to complement your purchase. This turns your galaxy S8, S8+ or Note 8 into basically, a desktop computer while charging the phone at the same time, also allows for phone calls, messages and all the usual smartphone functions. I purchased a wireless foldable keyboard with built in track pad. Treat yourself to the latest smartphone and enjoy the benefits that owning a Note 8 will bring. Just remember to purchase a decent protective case to keep your valuable purchase safe.

I've upgraded from an s5 and the technology hasn't moved on a great deal, but this has a few extras that I like and therefore help warrant the cost... At first I found the screen a little large for one-handed use but if you put the most-used items nearer the bottom of the screen that helps. I even use the scroll anywhere function on the homepage to bring down the notifications panel at the top more efficiently. Weight is noticeably more, but you adjust to that without realising. Battery wasn't much different to s5 but there's a lot of management settings which help. The biggest difference by far has been turning off cards, within Bixby settings!! Basically mobiles have lots of clever (marketable) features which you can never actually use if you don't want to be constantly charging the battery. S Pen, screen size and dual lens camera are the best reason to purchase in my opinion. Not many other phones offer this range of features. Being able to annotate and save parts of the screen with the pen make it really useful for sharing ideas with people. All in all it has enough features to add longevity, and if I don't drop it, all I'll have to pay for is getting a new battery installed eventually.

I took great pains to ensure that I bought a proper UK version of the Note 8, which this seller absolutely purported it to be - see "UK Version" above. If you don't have the UK version of the phone, even though it's almost the same as to make no difference it's incredibly important as otherwise Samsung render you ineligible for support and service warranty in the UK. Even though this is sold as a "UK Version" it isn't. It's a grey import from Dubai, and so if you want to use your warranty, then you'll have to get on a plane to the UAE or elsewhere in the Gulf. I only discovered this when I took it in to a Samsung repair centre and they ran a system check on the phone. Otherwise it's on the whole a great phone, but is getting 1 star because of what I would allege is a mendacious and fraudulent vendor, not the make.

Fabulous phone with great battery life, excellent display, quick operation and fantastic specs. I bought a VRS design case for it which makes it a real fabulous bit of kit. There is room for improvement however Samsung. I would like a better fingerprint sensor maybe on the side AKA Sony. The rear sensor is poorly positioned especially when in a case and is pretty much useless. I would like stereo front speakers. The bottom speaker is ok, but lacks quality compared to some other devices. The iris scanner is good in good light, but does not work well, if at all, in poor lighting. The price is too high at £869 (I paid £805). I think that a price nearer £700 would be better value, however the phone is excellent and is well built. Recommended, but shop around for the best prices.

I currently own a two year old mid range phone which has served me well but for once, I've decided to go from Mid Ranger to Flagship. As I prefer the Android eco system, I was debating between the Galaxy S8+ & Note 8 and settled for the Note 8 as I concluded the extra RAM, dual camera are more future proof. I also preferred the less prominent curvature on the Note 8 screen when compared with the S8+. The overall quality is as you would expect from any phone at this price: Stunning screen, great performance, excellent camera and I won't repeat the what other Amazon reviewers already covered comprehensively. The S pen is truly useful particularly for taking a quick screen shot and sharing with a contact or taking a quite note during a phone call. In terms of the negative points which have been consistently highlighted when I've been reading online reviews, I'd like to provide a quick summary of my experience. Fingerprint sensor placement next to the camera- yes it is awkward first few times and then you get used to it (no big deal), I find it natural position for the index finger. I use a case with it which really helps the locating it very easily. Give it a few days and it'll be second nature. No issues there. Battery Size (3300mAh): It averaged 5 hours screen time and in the first few days, the battery life was not great initially. This is as the phone was new, I was constantly checking and changing things. Now after a few days with normal use (whatsapp, casual browsing, listening to music, taking pictures), I get a full day with it, about 40% left when I get home from the office. After two weeks usage, I found the battery life to be excellent - full day without any issues. Phone Size: I'd recommend having a look at a local store as once I saw it, I realized it was not that much bigger than my current phone, only a bit taller. If anything, feels better in the hand than the S8+. Fast Charging: The Samsung fast charging will power your device from 30% to 100% in about an hour. Granted there are faster ones out there (E.g Qualcomm Quick Charge, OnePlus 5 Dash Charge) but it is good enough for me. This is great as I charge my phone when I wake up and it is fully charged by the time I leave the house for work. Samsung bloatware: Yes I would much prefer a stock android as with Samsung, you will two of everything and have to choose whether to use to use the Samsung or Google (Clock, calendar, samsung pay etc). It is more a Samsung issue than Note 8 but then very few manufacturers opt for a near stock Android. Speaker quality: The mono speaker is good but not great and as it is on the bottom, one can easily block the speakers while holding the phone to watch a video. The sound is okay but it will not match other phones with front facing stereo speaker. This is not an issue for me as I use Bluetooth headset for music and videos but I could be a deal breaker for some users. Personally as I intend to use the phone over the next few years, I accepted the higher price and justified the £150 extra on the Galaxy S8+ and so far I am really enjoying the phone - No regrets and I'm sure you won't be either. One more thing: I would recommend you get a case as it'll improve the grip!

Ok.I am a Samsung fan.All my devices are Samsung.I use my phone mainly for instagram where I have an account that I spend about 5 hours a day on.I post photos which I shoot with the IG app from beginning to end.I was using the Note 4.I need the stylus because with it I can copy text that would not be possible by just tapping.important for IG posting.Imo the Note 4 phones camera is superior.The N8 adds a weird blurry edging to shots which I don't like. The worst thing is the lack of sensitivity on the screen.No more "Glove setting". liking IG shots with a double tap is difficult.This is not changable.only the sensivity of the home bar can be changed. The extra brightness of the screen is fantastic for taking shots in full sun.The improved imo is a help when using clip-on macro lenses on my phone.I still get world class shots with this phone but actually prefer the Note 4 camera.As I use IG I doubt I will ever use the second Camera.A gimmick imo.Scrolling is very good and the S pen very sensitive .I dislike the curved edges.Hard to frame shots on IG as knowing where the edge is is impossible.A waste of time having a long phone when there is no increase in width for IG posts.I hope future Notes will be wider and bigger.No appreciable change in screen quality but Samsung screens are always amazing.Nice phone.Not brilliant.Be warned.Even with smart switch this phone takes a LONG time to set up!! Oh and the Battery I have to charge about 3 times a day as I have the screen on so much but that I expected.
