Perfect for MY UNIQUE application. First and foremost, I am not using this equalizer for music. I'm using it as a NOISE FILTER for an outdoor microphone. Background: I have a lot of security cameras, but I'm using the cameras for WILDLIFE OBSERVATION. You'd be amazed at the wildlife that comes out when we pull our shades for the night. While my cameras have microphones, the sound quality is pretty bad, and the little microphone pinholes are very sensitive to WIND. So I stuck a Shure Dynamic Mic in a plastic box, with a windscreen. The sound quality was much improved, but it picked up a lot rumble from airplanes overhead and traffic going by. There was also a constant roar from traffic on a highway that was over 2 kM distant. I wanted to filter out the low frequency sounds so I could hear wildlife. When I saw this equalizer, I noted that rather than it being a modern ACTIVE device with electronic filtering, it is a PASSIVE filter, comprised of L/C networks. That's exactly what I was looking for! L/C stands for "Inductance/Capacitance," in engineering terminology. In other words, it filters by using COILS and CAPACITORS to make TUNED STAGES for the 6 frequency ranges that it covers. That's the BEST kind of filtering, and adds NO NOISE of its own. Perfect! So I stuck it in line between a Mic PREAMP and an AMPLIFIER. I was able to "roll-off" almost all the sound below 2 kHz, and BOOST the sound ABOVE 2 kHz. Now I can barely hear traffic going by, and I can no longer hear traffic on the highway that's over 2 kM from here. I still hear human voices clearly, birds and crickets, and dogs barking. This is just what I wanted to do. So my application may be quite different than yours, but I hope my experience is of use to you. de KØUNX, Jim, in Jefferson County, Colorado.

i hooked this unit up to an Emotiva Reference Pre-amp to get some tone control' it was clean that i can say but just didn't have the bass control there for me, i needed much deeper and was very surprised due to the manufacture- a solid unit though !

This equalizer took my system to the next level. This is not your run of the mill gadget but a well made product that is worth every penny. The sound quality from the very low bass to the high treble that this equipment brings, added so much to the sound stage presence that I was looking for. The only thing is that you have to wait a few minutes before the equalizer kicks in. But I guess anything worthwhile is worth waiting for—and this Lokius Balance Equalizer is no exception! Another amazing piece of Schiit!!!
