Emergency torch light.
We have several of these. Excellent little item which provides good coverage. It’s a neat size for sockets. Light is a torch, comes on with movement & comes on when the power goes off. Very useful. Long life.

Very handy light!
I bought this for my children and they absolutely love it. It's a great size not too big but not too small either. The light it provides isn't too dazzling or too dim its literally spot on. It's simple straight out the box plug and play. It's a nice quality It's not got a cheap look or feel to it. I like how you can remove it and it become a torch or pop it back into the holder for the light It's fantastic. Great to have around the home especially for such as a power cut with the torch feature its great. Highly recommend.

Great wee device
Excellent little stand bye device. If your power goes out, well, it comes on. The power consumption is negligible so no problem just leaving it in the charging cradle.Handy panel illumination which can be on or off.No stupid flashing mode (which quite a few of these things have)The amount of light is plenty to navigate a room but you are going to want more to really illuminate a roomCon; The motion sensor is pointless as it's on top of the unit and is only activated if you wave your hand over the top of the unit. It's not going to activate if you walk past.Think on as to where your going to locate it as it really needs a wall socket in order to be upright rather than say a multi socket extension lead we all wind up using.Price: As a torch it's expensive and bettered by units at 1/2 the price but... they don't come on automatically.Build quality is fine for what it is. This isn't industrial emergency lighting it's a home product.Caveat:I bought this for my aged parents but have had a good play with it so this isn't some long term review

No need to be a mushroom...
For me a particularly attractive feature of this versatile bit of gadgetry is the power cut sensor: when plugged into the mains it automatically lights up if there is a power outage. There are 3 settings: 1) a dusk-till-dawn night light; 2) an 'everything off' mode; and 3) a motion sensor light. The power cut sensor works on settings 1 and 3.The motion sensor is pretty sensitive and reacts even in light shade (which actually can be a bit irritating!). What's more, this Nitesafe Duo light can function as a portable torch: it just lifts out of the cradle moulded into the front face of the plug. And it's perfectly cool to the touch.I haven't tested how long the torch lasts unplugged, though on one of the amazon webpages advertising this product I spotted a claim (under Technical Details) for 8 hours. If that is so, that's more than long enough to determine whether you've got a tripped switch or are the victim of a full-on power cut and need to ferret around dark cupboards for torches and the like that you know you had somewhere, just in case...In conclusion, it's a useful bit of kit.

Ideal product - love it!
I purchased similar products many moons ago and in time they failed. I found these and they are a step up from my originals. We get a lot of power outages and this is when they come into their own. They are compact, work perfectly as a nite light and a handy torch but when we have a power cut - they are life savers. Every home should have at least two of these.

Great light
As described, excellent quality, bright enough, sensor responsive. Great to use as a torch. Would recommend.

An "Okay" product
Unlike some reviews you may see on this product, I have PURCHASED this item and this is a true and accurate experience of the product. The product comes with a UK pin plug which also acts as a cradle for the nightlight. The nightlight also doubles-up as a rechargeable torch. The nightlight is charged when placed in the cradle via a "Induction Charging Technology", which means there are no live contacts to get a shock from and therefore safe. The nightlight needs to be kept switched on at the mains to enable the various function to operate. The nightlight has 3No settings via a sliding button on the side. When at the top, this puts the nightlight into "Dusk to Dawn" mode, which simply means as it gets darker, the nightlight automatically switches on and stays on until there is sufficient daylight the following morning. When the switch is in the middle, this is the off position. When the switch is at the bottom, this puts the nightlight into motion/movement detection mode, so that it only comes on when you walk in front of it within monitoring distance.I bought this product to place on my landing. When the nightlight is in "Dusk to Dawn" mode, the 6No LED lights at the front face of the product are very faint and barely lights a sufficient area for safe passage. In my view, in adequate for this purpose. When in the "Sensor" mode, the same 6No LED lights are very bright and is more than sufficient to cover the landing area (approx. 2.0m x 1.8m ). Not sure why the intensity can't be the same for both settings? The product specification states that the Sensor range is 3m to 4m. I found this to be totally inaccurate. Having trialled the sensitivity of the sensor several times, on average, I found the range to be only 2.2m. Typically for me, this means I would have to climb the stairs and be standing on the landing for it to come on rather than picking up my movement as I am approaching the landing. The specification also states that in the "Sensor" mode, the light stays on for period of 30 seconds at a time. This too was inaccurate as testing showed it was only 20 seconds. In the sensor mode, when the light has come on and then gone off (after 20sec in my case), it will not come back until a period of 5 seconds as lapsed - this was in line with the product specification. To use the nightlight as a torch, you simply take it out of the cradle and 4No bright LEDS at the top of the nightlight come on. These are quite bright. Whilst I didn't test how long the built-in battery would last on a single charge during continuous use, for the period I did test it for, projecting the timescale, I suspect this could be in the order of approximately 2hrs?Overall an adequate product, but disappointing in the "Sensor" mode when it comes to the detection range and the time the light stays on especially for the price you have pay.
