A MAP for Living Your Values? Yes, please!!!
As a psychologist who not only uses ACT in my work with patients, but also lives ACT, I found the resources in this book to be very applicable and user friendly. Drs. Moran and Ming do an amazing job of clarifying the ACT principles into a road map that guides users from their stuck points to values-based living. Furthermore, they have taken these principles and made them into a catchy phrase that can be used to help individuals remember the actions needed to move towards one’s values. The worksheets that go along with the book are nicely done as well and are great supplemental tools to the text. I have been using both personally and professionally and have gifted this book to others as well. A must have for any ACT practitioner’s or any one searching for self improvement’s library.

This is the Treasure Map we need
I’m a psychologist with 30 years experience in the field. I’m happy to say that you can indeed judge this book by its cover because it delivers exactly what it promises: “Finding Your Why & Finding Your Way…Identifying What You Care About and Reach Your Goals”. My favorite page of this book? “The next one” because it really is a page-turner! Much like a Treasure Map this book leads you on a journey to riches in the form of emotional and behavioral rewards that will no doubt exceed your expectations. It’s a Work-Book that actually Works. After three decades of practice, I have an important announcement to make: THIS is my new favorite book!

Do things to have a more fulfilling Life!
This workbook/self-help guide is quite amazing! It guides you to organize your values, and determine actions that will help you reach your goals, and continue to improve your Life.I work as a speech pathologist, which is a very important area/ part of my life. I’m using this book as a guide with whom the children I work. As I improve myself, I feel the children and their families will also benefit.Writing things down (MAP) with this as a guide also has increased my accountability; in order to follow through with my actions.I have learned and am taking part in more mindfulness activities. I am working on different and new ways to grow and act (speaking of “ACT” 😊) in the various areas of Me.Learning about ACT has been helpful in my journey to focus on the important things/areas of my life.I would highly recommend this workbook if you want to understand yourself more and better yourself, in order to live life to the fullest.

Very practical resource for anyone on a self-development journey
I'm a psychologist who has specialized in ACT for over 20 years. There are many ACT books available these days, but I think this one is perhaps the most unique. For newcomers, ACT can be a bit overwhelming or complicated, and many teachers, trainers, and authors have struggled to find ways to present ACT in the most digestible way possible. I personally think Finding Your Why and Finding Your Way has accomplished something really impressive. From beginning to end, the book provides so many accessible and practical bits of guidance and clarification. The entire book rests on this organizing model called the MAP - the Mindful Action Plan. The authors have been able to take all the elements of ACT - some of them really tricky to explain - and present them in this unified, clear-as-day manner. The Mindful Action Plan offers a helpful resource to almost anyone who is yearning to move forward in life. I can imagine it being used for relationship difficulties, challenges at work or school, and struggles with physical and psychological health. The Mindful Action Plan provides a framework that can be applied to anyone wanting to create meaningful change in their life. I heartily recommend!

Finally! A way to put your goals into ACTION
Exceptionally written book! If you are struggling with “life,” this book has a clearly explained path to help you use mindfulness to navigate your way out of the weeds. The workbook style uses relatable examples and provides a way to transform your thoughts into action. It guides you from identifying a goal (most books don’t include this crucial step), creating a plan, and uses to-do lists to keep you on track. I especially found the visual charts helpful, while the worksheets helped me stay focused and motivated.Best of all, "Finding Your Why and Finding Your Way," can be easily used by individuals or therapists. Frankly, I believe it should be used as a tool by both individuals and therapists during each session. I can’t say enough about this book!

Overall, it was a good book. I wish checklists or quizzes were included.
Finding Your Why and Finding Your Way: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Workbook to Help You Identify What You Care About and Reach Your Goals by Daniel J. Moran and Siri Ming is a very interesting book. However, it was a bit difficult to read with the formatting of my advance copy; every page had the words "uncorrected proof" in the middle of a sentence.I also wish the book had checklists or quizzes and not just reading paragraph after paragraph. The book dives into if you are feeling lost in life. Or if things are going along for you, but you're still looking for some direction. The book focuses on the premise that only you, the reader, can determine where you want to go. This book helps you figure that out, envision a clear path, and create a mindful action plan for going forward toward your personal goals. The book invites you to be here now, accept your feelings, and notice your thoughts while doing what you care about. It focuses on helping you take mindful action.Overall, it was a good book, but nothing really new was presented, and I wish checklists or quizzes were included.I rate this a 3 out of 5 stars.#FindingYourWhyandFindingYourWay #NetGalley @NewHarbinger
