An excellent collection of parts for electronic tinkerers.

This thing has by far the best selection of SMT parts, and I doubt that I will use some of the stuff that is in here, but its good to have just in case. They actually (it seems quite normal) include more that what is in the description. At least I did. I received extra transistors of different sizes and value that werent on the list.Great value, and worth every penny (unless youre the type that buys the reels that they make this from, then go ahead and get you a reel of each one of these).

Got this mainly as I wanted to try out soldering with smt / smd components. I assumed that it would be a horrendous learning curve and would toast and roast a boat load of these in the learning process :-)The box includes a little practice soldering board with a bunch of different components to throw at it. I was surprised, with the right tools and settings, that it is not too hard to master. Some of the components in the practice bag are actually useful components, so I swapped them with some of the values in the main box that I knew that I would never use, and practiced with those instead.The 603 size is pretty much useless for me, as they are too small but the 805 and 1206 are great.

great kit. well organized and everything. the surprise was the tools it comes with. they're actually pretty good tools, especially for something included in a kit. I'm getting a lot of use out of the iron tip. holds tinning longer and better than the tips that came with my iron. the tweezers are the same quality as the ones I already have, which is not bad. only thing I'd change is adding more LEDs. those things are so easy to break (and it's all easy to lose). I go through a lot more of them than other components.

There's no watts known for resistors, no voltage known for capacitors. Neat little kit though.

This is a great assortment kit. I originally just got it because I needed a large resistor assortment, but I've used bits and pieces of this kit that I didn't even think I would need, like the tweezers and soldering iron tip! Even an LED or two to replace one that got blown off the edge of the board during solder flow before it was sent to me.Just be sure you have an ohm-meter handy to validate the parts you are taking out of the kit before soldering them in. The resistor markings and felt-tip pen markings on the strips make it easy to find the ones you want, but it is still a good idea to make sure you've got the right resistor :-).-Matt
