Qi Standard Wireless Charger Receiver Module for Samsung Galaxy S5 i9600 i9700

I don't normally write Amazon reviews, (this is my first one) but I felt compelled to because of some of the negative reviews for this product which are just not accurate. I have a Galaxy S5 that cannot be charged consistently from the charging port so for the last year or so I've been charging a spare battery using a separate charger and swapping them when required. As you can imagine this can become tedious so when I saw that it was possible to charge the S5 using induction charging I was keen to learn more. Yes, I read the reviews on this product and they were mixed. But it was so cheap I decided to give it a go and ordered a charger as well. And guess what, I followed the advice of previous reviewers and put a layer of tape at the opposite side of the contacts in order for the cover to press down on this area when closed and it has work a treat. (I used a single layer of self amalgamating tape but 2 or 3 layers of electrical insulating tape would achieve the same thickness). I do not see any obvious bulging out of the back cover either. So for a quick summary; Good points - It works on my S5, and relative easy and quick to set up - It is incredibly cheap - There is no bulging out of the cover on my phone anyhow Not so good points. - Charging is slower than for cable connection but that is common to all induction charging and isn't specifically a negative for this unit. - You do have to add some kind of tape on the opposite side of the contacts. (no biggie and done in minutes)

Will work with the standard Samsung Galaxy S5 phone, but not the Neo version. I did buy this Qi charging card for my Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo. The card was well constructed, and I did use a similar card like this one many years ago to put Qi charging into my Samsung Galaxy S3, and it worked reliably. Unfortunately, Samsung did change the configuration of the charging pins from the standard Samsung Galaxy S5, which uses 3 pins, to the Neo version which only uses 2 so unfortunately it wouldn’t work with the Neo. However the card is well built and thin, and fits without a bulge inside the phone, so it is invisible, unlike many externally mounted receivers, which fit outside the case. If there was a Qi charging card from this company for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo, I would certainly buy and fit it. I hope this company can inform us Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo users (SM-G903F) if there is such a card available. Many thanks.

I have an S5 with a faulty connector and so it would only charge with great difficulty and only if I held the mains charger in quite hard all of the time. Having read the reviews of all of these wireless chargers none of them seemed to have very good reviews but I chose this one on the basis that as it was a little more costly then hopefully it work better than a cheap one. When viewing the photo above. It has 2 contacts on the top left hand corner on the reverse face. These need to make make contact with 2 connections on the phone. I positioned these and put some electrical tape over the corner of this wireless charger to ensure the contacts remained touching. This did not work for more than a few seconds even with the phone back on properly. However rather than give up and send it back as the rest all seemed to have rubbish reviews anyway, I built up the same corner that I had stuck down with a few layers of small pieces of electrical tape just over the contact area. This ensures that when the phone back is on, it exerts pressure onto the contacts the whole time and maintains the connection. This now works perfectly and I have so far had no problems with this at all. To be fair, this may also be down to the charger I use with it as well (See below). I ordered this on a Thursday and it was delivered the following Sunday. Fantastic! I have given this 3 stars only because it works as specified when modified. No chance of it working if just inserted as supplied and instructed by the manufacturer. The charger used was ordered at the same time and was the HiGoing Fast Wireless Charger, QI Wireless Fast Charging Stand for Galaxy Note 8, S8, S8 Plus, Galaxy S7,S7 Edge, S6 Edge Plus/S6 Edge+,Note 5 and Standard Charging For iPhone 8/8 plus, iPhone X,LG G6 at £19.99.

This product does what it says. The only issue I had is that the very corner of the 'patch' overlapped the silicone seal / gasket on the back of the phone making it impossible to snap back and this would also be a problem with the waterproofing. I solved the problem by snipping off a TINY (about 1mm) piece of the patch. I don't really recommend this as you could easily cut through some internal parts if you aren't careful. I also agree with others that the best plan is to stick it to the back of the phone, not the battery, so that you can still change batteries if you want to.

The three (3) contact pins on the Wireless Charging Pad are not compatible with the two (2) contact slots on the Galaxy S5 mobile phone. So unless the S5 is made differently in different parts of the world, this Wireless device was NOT MADE FOR THE GALAXY S5. Actions that others have performed to get the device to work, means that this product is not fit for purpose. I did not require the use of the device when it arrived, and I did not realise that there was a 30 day return policy. Too bad. Upon taking it out of the box, I found that it did not fit or work. To add electrical tape or other means of attaching and pushing the contacts into place should only be considered as a last resort. The heat generated is much greater than normal and puts the phone in the precarious position of over-heating. This product was purchased through Amazon and as such should be removed from their site due to false advertising. The images shown on the page https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51m57ue79PL.jpg is not what was delivered or what it was intended to be used on. ie Galaxy S5. All in all. Not fit for purpose. Waste of money, time and effort. Amazon, over to you now.........

It works and it's great. it arrived here a few days ago. For some weird reason it says it is yet to be delivered in my section of orders. It's here though.

My techy son told me to try this because the wired plugs to charge my phone over time stopped working or the cell phone ports wore out. I didn't want to have to purchase more cords or a new phone so I took his advice. Works fantastic. I am so glad I did listen to him and I will never charge my cell phones with cords again. It was simple to add the plate inside my phone ( It is an old Samsung S5) and they did not add internal charge plates to older phones. However, they do add internal charger plates to newer phones so check yours first. If your phone is newer, you may not need this because you already have an internal receiver plate. Then all you would need is the charger to plug into the wall and lay your phone on to charge. (Those are $5 at some stores, EX: Menards, Five Below, etc.). My phone needed an internal plate to accept the wireless charge. Hope this helps!

I like it a lot, i had a problem with the charger. And this is a great product to use.
