Yes, just make sure you trim it after the embrodery.

I’m really not sure about using it on thin old hankies sorry. I use it to make some pouches on cotton fabric and some thicker fabric.

I am not sure what you are making. This is the interfacing that is recommended for the Bionic Gear Bag. I tried using Decor Bond and several other fusibles on the these bags (I made a lot of them) and Shape Flex (also called Pellon SF101) is definitely the best. Both Decor Bond and Craft Fuse (I have used both) are somewhat stiffer and, to my mind, the fusible that is used on these shows in the final final product as some crinkling in the fabric. It will soften with time though. Shape Flex provides some support but is is smooth and supple. Good luck with your projects! I am now a confirmed fan of Shape Flex!
