The instruction booklet says the main deck should have 54 cards, but ours only has fifty. Which is the correct number?

Does this come with promo cards for Everdell?

yes, it comes with some cards that go directly into the normal everdell game, which we have added - kindergarten dwelling and multiple Kids creature cards, which I've already built in my everdell games.

Is their a solo play option in the My Lil' Everdell game?

Recommended age? Amazon says 14+ but I think that might be wrong.

it is wrong. I think they put that to avoid having to do "under 14" testing of components, since apparently 9 year olds love to chew and digest board game pieces or at least the government thinks so. Anyways, we had our 10 year old play it find. The board game community thinks 8 plus is best and I tend to agree with that.
