Using Ten Frames to Teach Number Sense, Grades K - 1

Not much in it
Disappointed. Low quality paper, not many learning activity ideas, and then several pages of differently themed tens frames with corresponding square 'counters' to cut out.To be accurate, The counters for each frame should really be uniform (ie 10 left-facing bunnies) but some are not, and/or there should be 10 each of two very obviously different counter-types (i.e. 10 left-facing bunnies and 10 carrots) for each frame. You could facilitate the latter by using counters from two different frames. The only benefit of this book really is that it gives you some ready made tens frames but it would be just as well to draw them out yourself by hand or on computer and buy counters or use 'counter' like items you already have.If using in a classroom like setting you would want to laminate them; I would stick with 3D counters rather than cut and laminate the 2D (flat paper) square ones that come in this book - no time needed to cut and laminate, harder to lose and easier to manipulate/handle.
