Penn Elcom Custom Media Rack Shelves Compatible with 2 x Sonos Amp Units

Update: contacted seller and was sent a replacement part so fast I was very surprised. 5 stars.Original: Front cover came damaged. Packaged well but the corner of the magnet cover was bent in the corner. Other than that great product. I will contact seller and see if I could get sent a replacement.

I'm all for custom rack equipment but this is a completely overpriced and useless product. It's a 2U shelf with a magnetic faceplate to surround 2x Sonos Amps. Just get a 1U shelf and place the amps on it, it'll work just as well and look 95% as clean. Don't waste your money on this junk. Oh, and to add insult to injury, this thing doesn't even come with rack nuts/screws.

Build quality is good and shelf is strong. Shelf doesn't bend with weight of 2x Sonos Amps. Front fascia is magnetized and fits well even with /dev/mount cage nuts or rackstuds. Fascia lines up really well with the amps protruding 5-10mm and lines up well with Unifi gear. The shelf seems a bit oversized for what it does, but it fits my smaller 17.5" deep cabinet although tight. Definitely happy with the look and too early to tell if it helps or hinders airflow.

This is awesome. The Series X fits perfectly and it looks clean and professional in my AV rack. This is one of those little splurges that I’m glad I made! No regrets!

I like them; they make my rack full of Sonos Amps look better than it otherwise would. I also work in telecom, so I'm familiar with the cost of 2U front mount rack shelves, and these come in at about three times the going rate on such shelve. So basically 3x to get a face plate that matches Sonos Amps, a couple magnets, and a horizontal cable management arm you can't add anyway because then you have no way to plug things into the rear of the Sonos units if the rack has something above this shelf, nor any way to remove it after the fact because it screws in from the outsides of the shelf.
