Hugely impressive. This professional standard kit is a game changer for the home car enthusiast…
I'm genuinely impressed beyond expectation by the Kingbolen K7. I should explain that I’m an amateur enthusiast with a small private car collection and relatively little mechanical knowledge, I’m a tinkerer. Having been frustrated with more cheap and cheerful diagnostic tools, both in terms of their limitations in use and their limitations in compatibility I decided to splash out on a ‘proper’ bit of kit. I did my research across the internet and it seemed the K7 gave more bang for buck in pretty much every area compared to others at a similar price point, and I couldn’t find any negative feedback, so ordered one hoping for the best. The buying experience was GREAT. Easy to order online, and it arrived literally the next day with detailed tracking. I particularly liked the security of having to provide a unique code to take delivery, no chance of it going to the wrong hands. Initial impressions were very good, it comes in a useful carrying case and the unit seemed carefully designed, very well constructed and extremely robust. The instructions seemed somewhat brief, which did make me wonder if it was designed for people who already had some insight into using a tool like this, but it turned out that the K7 is actually highly intuitive, and the initial set up was very straightforward indeed, the process was familiar and easy. I kind of dived into the deep end and decided to just crack on with familiar jobs. First of all I tried connecting it to one of my cars that no other reader I’d tried could communicate with, my 2003 MG ZT190 which had the EML on. No problem at all, full connection and communication, the automatic VIN popped straight up and I was able to read the fault code. After the frustration of months of not being able to do that with multiple readers I immediately justified the purchase for that alone! I’ve subsequently used it on all of my personal cars with complete success, so I can confirm that this is a perfect tool for anyone running slightly obscure ‘modern classics’. I’ve also used it across a range of more current vehicles belonging to colleagues and friends, again completely successfully. A week in, I’m still learning and experimenting with the unit’s capabilities which FAR outweigh those that I expected, and I genuinely can’t imagine being without it. I can only speak as a car home enthusiast rather than a professional mechanic, but on that basis I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this as an essential addition to your arsenal. I only wish I’d bought one sooner!

Great quality device packed with lots of features!
Review from an experienced mechanic working at an independent garage .. I’ve been really impressed with the K7 , I’ve been used to working with snap on and Bosch machines so this was a change and I was pleasantly surprised! It’s really nice and simply to use , a good size and packed with lots of features! It’s covered all the vehicles I’ve tried it on so far and covers all the different ecus. I’ve used it to successfully carry out 7 dpf regens and have reset some add blue counters also used it to wind back the electric callipers on a jaguar .. it appears to have so additional options for running a scope through it which I may look into getting at some point .. but overall I think it’s a really good value for money device :)

Ok for basic stuff.
It works ok for most things, fault clearing and health checks ect. Did not recognise alot of things on my Audi b8 S5. Autel would of been the one for me but you will pay more.

A great scanner,
I got this scanner as i had a fault on my van and i have been looking for a good one. I had seen a review for this by a mechanic. This scanner is running launch software which is easy to use and can do everything that a snap on scanner but at an amazing price. The mechanic that did a review of this has a launch scanner that cost 5k and this scanner does everything his can . Well worth the money .

Must See OBD Scanner for Professional or DIY
It works as it should ! Mercedes Sprinter cleared old DTC's. 2015 Honda crv cleared old DTC's. Citroen C4 Picasso sorted out issue with DPF fluid tank and as I had the security code I added a second Key Fob worked great. That alone save me about £200. The bluetooth Dongle makes it portable its such a difference not having the cables, you can work at the engine with the unit. It is fast and responsive with clear screen menu's and I updated the unit before using it, all so simple. Its a compact unit but I combined 3 paramaters in one graph which I could zoom into. Great Value for money.

Easy to use
Very straightforward and easy to use. Does all the diy mechanic stuff and I’m very happy with this tool.

This really does the business.
Faced with the prospect of a big bill from Jaguar I bought this and followed a YouTube video to do all the resetting, thus enabling the car to start once more. So easy to use. Highly recommended.

Very Unhappy With This Badly Designed Product.
Arrived in an unsealed box. There were no screen protectors provided. The case is badly designed, the K7 just about fits in there along with it's accessories with little protection provided by the case, and if you put K7 into the case face down then you are very likely to break the screen on the accessories stored underneath. That is the good bit. It recognised my Nissan Note car as a 2013 instead of a 2015. Very little of the functions of the K7 worked on my vehicle despite Nissan being included in its standard database. I carried out a couple of scans and a few other vehicle checks and it flattened my battery and I had to charge my battery up before I could start the car. The K7 looks to be well built and has a colourful menus with loads of options which will mostly not work. This is a £300+ machine that is very poor value for money. If you are looking for functionality, then look elsewhere because the K7 is more gimmicks than functionality and highly likely to disappoint.
