Topeak Super Tourist DX Tubular Rack with side Bar Disc Mount Version

Finally got round to fitting this. Somebody else mentioned struggling to attach this at the bottom of the frame. They were right! I had to Dremel the left side bottom corner off so it would fit with the quick release on the wheel. I can’t imagine anyone not having this problem! ROUND OFF THOSE SQUARE BOTTOM BRACKETS TOP PEAK! still once painted, you couldn’t tell. Also, the screws that attach the silver top brackets. Put them in facing up or they’ll catch on your mudguard. See pic 2. Otherwise it looks well! Would have given five stars if it fitted first time!

I have fitted it had get the longer brackets as my bike is a small frame that was the hardest part it behaved its self and fitted easily some I have had in the past was hard to fit this one was ok rock solid very happy with the results

Disc brakes check, Gravel bike check, does it fit nope!. The oversize aluminium "blocks" that are used to bolt into the "eyelets" are so damn big they get pushed out of alignment by the tubes of the bike frame. It is a square block of aluminium so unless you have a good 1cm all round flat space around your rack eyelet don't bother.!

This 'universal fit' disc brake version of the pannier rack does not fit on the bike I bought it for. The giant metal blocks on either side are too big and can't fit between the other mountings. One one side the brake disc mount gets in the way and on the other it's the derailleur. This may be a specific problem with my bike, but the fittings all seem to be standard so it must happen with other bikes as well. The non-disc version won't fit either so now I'm stuck.

This feels like it will be a solid, reliable frame. Fitting took a bit of work however. The blocks which space the frame from the rear bracket are square in section and on my bike they interfered with the wheel nuts. I therefore had to file some material off. I've noted comments about the screws fitting to the rear bracket failing and will probably change them annually as a precaution. The fittings at the top of the frame took more manipulation and bending than the instructions suggested. Net result is a frame that is fitted and feels solid. We'll see how it gets on.

I use this rack with the Topeak MTB pannier bag. Have been on a number of tours this year, fully laden without any problems.It fits my Boardman ADV 8.9 perfectly - no messing around.Flexibility: I had the Topeak pannier bag on top and 2x Elops 25l 900 Kompaktrail bags on the sides.

DOES NOT fit Carerra Vengeance 2020!! The bolt holder that goes near the rear hub is too thick.

Very happy so far. Solid and well made rack. Easy to fit. Panniers fit well and are secure
