how do you know which you need? trying to fix recharble speaker whos port fell off but unsure which i need. so many varieties.

I was able to compare old port based on how the contacts fit onto the circuit board once I disassembled. If you don't have the old port , I would try to match one of the new ports to the contacts on the board where the old port failed

Do they work on tablets?

There is a decent variety of connectors in the set. Your best bet would be to open the unit and try to find the connector that fits. I have used these both on phones and tablets.
