The Perfect Tool for Model Makers
Now, its fair to say that I'm not a brain surgeon. More of a mechanical one that furtles around the insides of large marine engines and boilers hoping to resurect the dead before the storm hits. However, I am a model maker and of course sharp cutting devices are essential for a clean finish. Now, many of us use the Xacto type knife which, works very well indeed. However, the blades whilst not exepenive are not that cheap either.Step forward the surgeon's tool of choice, the Swan-Morton surgical knife. Comfortable to use and most of all you can get boxes of the disposable blades - which are damned sharp - for not much money. A 100 pack is only a few quid so you can always ensure that you have a razor sharp blade in use when working on your model. As far as I'm concerned for model making this is a no brainer. Always going to be sharp, cheap to buy and if you ever get the itch to change career and take up open heart surgery then you will have the tool skills already ingrained.

Near Perfect
For a technician this would be better with a small magnet press fitted into it. Also needs a sheaf. Other than that its a bit of steel that will not lose its shape anytime soon.

Does what it is supposed to.
It's a scalpel handle. It's my favourite scalpel handle. It's also my only scalpel handle.

This is the second one I have purchased, I ...
This is the second one I have purchased, I lost or mislaid my first one, I would not have replaced the first one with any other scalpel, thousands of people in the surgical profession can't be wrong!

Genuine Swann-Morton
Not a lot to say. It's a genuine Swann scalpel handle, and it obviously takes Swann blades with no fiddle or wobble.Came reasonably quickly (non-Prime).
