NTE5a Master Socket - latest BT compatible version containing Bellwire Filter plus IDC punch down tool

I bought this to replace the master socket that my builder damaged during our house refurbishment. The product is a like for like replacement for our BT master socket. The Bellwire IDC tool is particularly handy to connect up the blue wires. As per item photo there is no BT logos on it. All mounting screws are included though the screws provided were a little short for our wall mount, but that is probably because our wall box is a little deep.The reason why I took off one star is because the item is labelled "latest" BT Openreach version, when it fact it is not. The latest BT Openreach version has a unfiltered socket for the router at the top, and a filtered socket for your phone at the bottom. BT Openreach came one week later to check my broadband connection, and switched this faceplate over for this newer version.

Value for money easy to install

The first thing I encountered was that the screws that hold the socket together are where the screws go to hold it to the metal bracket in the wall. I had to make new holes below and the socket is now out of line with the switch next to it.Also had to chop it a little to get the wires in place. The bottom line is that it works perfectly, all you need is a bit of imagination.

Good value product

After our existing one was damaged by damp (we noticed crackling in earpiece and wi-fi slow) I got this and installed after seeing water in old one! Swapped over in minutes and nice clear earpiece and fast wi-fi again.

The socket is OK but no wiring diagram so unless you know what you're doing a bit of research will be required.

Cheap is cheap, but the cable can’t go in and it keeps falling out
