VERY THIN PLASTIC - took more than 2 in order not to see the hole behind it ( i was covering a whole in the ceiling where a fan used to be)

Material is thick and sturdy, however, the double stick tape it comes with is awful. Mine keeps falling off the ceiling and I have to re-tape it every couple of days. However, It was easy to install and fit as expected.
