Despite being littermates, their penchant for mischief (and wrestling, chasing, play fighting-got them fixed at 6 weeks old..perpetual kitten stage!) seemed to reduce in intensity , but intensify during the subsequent month. The calming collars continued to yield positive results for the first two weeks of the second month, adhering to the recommended 30-day replacement schedule, but...Regrettably, our optimism was curtailed when the effects waned after the two-week mark, during the second month. A fresh set of collars from a new pack provided only one additional week of efficacy, a stark departure from the initial month of commendable performance. It appears that the animals may develop a tolerance to the calming collars over time.In light of our experience, we recommend purchasing this product, but with adopting a cautious approach by allowing a one to two-week interval between each month of usage. It is worth noting that our feline companions, aged three years and weighing in at 13 pounds each, may have contributed to the observed variance in effectiveness. Despite this, when the collars were at the height of their efficacy, the results were truly remarkable.After a fortnight siesta, the collars bounced back to stardom, delivering results that made us feel like we'd just discovered fire – or at least a really great taco place. So, note to self: let your cat take a break from the collars for a week or two after each 30 day usage before you open up another fresh collar.And get this – I didn't toss out the questionable, half-used collars that we were not sure were not working or it was the power of the male “forces of darkness” power fighting the collars power over them! Oh no, not this budget savvy mother, I treated them like the last slice of pizza in the fridge, vacuum-sealed them, and voila! They were back in action, acting fresher than a dad joke at a family gathering.Guess what? Even these male sumo wrestlers had no qualms about a second collar encounter either. It's like they were saying, "Bring it on, round two!" And as for those pampered indoor farm cats? Although pricey, the calming collar is worth every cent. I was very skeptical, but after reading reviews I decided to give it a try on our 3 and 1/2-year-old orange Tabby girl with golden eyes. She had become moody and sometimes aggressive towards other cats in the house and sometimes the humans. She wanted to be petted, but she would change her mind, and even bit us sometimes. I couldn't figure out any big changes that had happened in the home that would cause her behavior. I purchased the box of calming collars and took one out to try it on her. It smelled very pleasant, and it was easy to put on her even though she had never had a collar on before. About a week went by before I began to notice any change in her. And then suddenly there she was again - our sweet, playful little girl. She wanted cuddles and loving and pretty much non-stop without any attitude at all. Not convinced it was all due to the collar, I removed it for a few days and her negative behaviors began to return so I put a new collar on her because it was time, and she has been her sweet self again now for 2 weeks. This has been a huge behavior adjustment, and such an easy way to fix the problem. I'm going to order some for my other female cat to see if she will stop being so dramatic. (I wonder could these work on people? Lol!) An unexpected bonus the collar offers is that it glows in the dark and makes it much easier to see kitties so they don't get stepped on at night. Used to be a great for calming & made an observable impact, so I bought them repeatedly. My last 3 boxes, ordered at different times, have not only had no aroma, there’s been ZERO impact on cat moods. It used to be that putting one of these collars on a cat produced immediate results like more social, visible, relaxed, cuddly cats. Not any more and it wasn’t just one box that was a dud. For folks who don’t like aroma in collars, then I suggest those folks buy regular collars instead of ones for calming. The aroma these used to have was worth it bc the results were undeniable. Now I can get these right out of the package & nothing. The stark change in how the cats responded to them confirms that some change was made to what was once a wonderful, effective product. Now it’s just spending money for collars that glow in the dark. So disappointed. And I wouldn’t care about changes or absence of aroma if they still worked, but at this household, they stopped working when this brand of collar made changes to the design.
