Our FGX Nightshade blades are unaffected by moisture. They never rust, warp, crack or split even in the most challenging environments. They are light enough to be tied, tucked, or taped just about anywhere, and, since they are unaffected by all but the most extreme heat and cold, they are a natural choice for concealed storage both inside and outside of your house - from hedges and flowerpots, to the refrigerator or the shower!

Review: Great stabbing implement for wet conditions. - I didn't like the lanyard ring, but fortunately it was very easy to remove. I originally envisioned keeping this in the shower since it won't rust like a regular blade. The others who share the same showering facility didn't like the idea so I just keep it hanging from a nail on the wall in my hallway looking cool. I get lots of positive comments from visitors, and it feels really neat in the hands too. The grip is great, even when it is wet and your hands are wet. I'm sure it would be a deadly stabbing implement if needed. While fairly sharp, it is not ideal for cutting as it will bend really easily. The material is not hard enough. Just dropping it once caused the very sharp tip to bend and be a little blunted but it is still very sharp. Overall it is no replacement for a real knife, but if you want a stabbing implement to store in places that would corrode a metal implement it cannot really be beaten. Without the lanyard ring on it, I don't think there is any metal on it. If you were an undercover agent trying to infiltrate a place without being detected by the wand wielders, it might be a good choice for you. It is also very lightweight! I think this would be a great emergency tool for boating too. You can just stow it and forget it without worrying about it corroding or weighing a lot.
Review: Great shower solution for the seriously paranoid! - Prepared? Paranoid? Whatever. I'm the guy with a gun, knife or flashlight in my hand when no one else thought to bring one. Getting naked and stepping into the shower at my house can make a paran... i mean, "prepared" guy like me a little uneasy... sure, a bad guy would have to get though two large and aggressive bully bread dogs to get to me, but hey, it's possible, and how much more unprepared can you be than being naked with no weapon available? Sure, I've tried double ziplocking a spare handgun (leaked), hanging a stainless steel knife (rusted), and leaning an old spare riot baton (warped) in the shower, but none were good long term solutions. PLASTIC! Just hang this off the shower head and you have a serious tool to fight your way to your firearms! Sharp enough to cut, pointy enough to stab, and hey, a bad guy doesn't know it's plastic so it would work well for intimidation as well. Every prepared and/or paranoid guy and gal should have one of these hanging from their shower head. Cheap insurance in a dangerous world.

**Q: Does this have a metal in the handle so it can be picked up by a metal detector?  I've heard manufactures do this with ceramic, and composite knives.**
A: Yes, there is a steel ring that, if one were so inclined. can be removed to allow access to the molded in lanyard hole. There is no metal cast into any of the examples that I have come across in my travels.

Ignore the durability rating. It is made of plastic so it cannot take too much abuse. However, this is one of the few plastic knives with a cutting edge. Buy/build a good sheath to protect that edge and you have a great backup weapon that won't rust. Yes, I recommend. In fact, I reordered.
