I couldn’t see, when I first noticed this, how it could be of use. I was struggling with a lot of cutting as the arthritis in my hands made it hard to hold a ruler and move my hand up for long cuts. I had tried different ways of holding the ruler steady but nothing really worked efficiently every time. Once I had seen the YouTube video on the Slidelock I really thought this might be the answer. I ordered it from the States in the end and it came promptly. I tried it out on some scrap fabric and it worked like a dream! The balls underneath hold the fabric securely and cutting is then easy. No shifting of hands, just one place to hold with an easy grip for me. The hand is well out of the way of blades. I now completed my quilt with far less stress. Measuring, then bringing the Slidelock up to the ruler is no problem. I am very pleased with it and now can tackle a quilt kit that I had put aside due to my cutting problems.

These rulers are great. You can cut larger pieces with out your fabric moving and you don't need a weight at the end of the ruler. I bought the larger one and the smaller one and use them both all the time. It is an amazing ruler.

This quilting notion is a game changer! If you are using that shower holder thingy on top of your long flat ruler - toss it! I know this is spendy - and rarely are we truly served when we spend this kind of money - but in this case it is really worth it. I took a chance after seeing the video and I have gotten rid of all other ruler holding contraptions. First of all it is LONG enough!! which most rulers aren't so you usually have to cut fabric that came off the bolt in order to use it - not with this! Second - and most importantly - IT LOCKS ON TO THE FABRIC!! I was wondering how come - even with that handle grip thingy - I would still slide sometimes when rotary cutting. After getting this product - not only does that not happen any more EVER - but I now realize that the "slip" was not between where I was holding the ruler (which is what the shower thingy locks down) - but rather it was the ruler slipping on the fabric - which this product locks down! The thing does not move AT ALL - you can cut with confidence - its AWESOME!

The only ruler that holds absolutely still. Now my strips are perfect. It even makes my rotary blades cut smoothly. The blades last longer and I don’t understand why. Highly recommend.

The best tool I have in my studio, helps me cut bias strips , strips and any other straight cutting I have to do in my studio. I have the 24" which until the mask making going on during this coronavirus pandemic it would have been nice to have had the shorter Slidelock Ruler Guide. Love it! And highly recommend it

The slide lock works very well. Holds fabric and doesn’t move or slide. Wish they would add tiller to item.
